People giving you thumbs down: "I don't like free speech!, more censorship and only things I agree with!!" lol. Left or right free speech FTW! Joe Rogan Experience is certainly a Wild West of a podcast but its pretty interesting.

No, I gave it a thumbs down because I think Joe Rogan sucks and has sucked since Fear Factor. Censorship and political views don't factor at all.

I don't even know his political views, actually, and don't care.

Totally agree. Shock jocks are all ego and power. But apparently people want or need to yell at the clouds. Makes them feel like they are part of a tribe. Rogan enables them.

It's remarkable how much this doesn't resemble Joe's show. I don't understand the hatred.
From what I understand, a lot of the hatred is Joe just morphs into his guests' POVs and doesn't consisently ask questions/challenge them.

Also, he lacks following his own POV. I've seen him call out someone he dislikes saying something insane. But when it was brought to his attention that his friend actually said that, he was like "oh not a big deal - he messed up".

I don't care what political side you're on - it makes your character erode when you play favorites but claim to be 'unbiased'.

He has had Trump, Vance, Elon, Bernie, and Fetterman. I agree with you, he kind does morph with who he is talking too but he really does it with all of them. So I think the only favorites he plays aren't left/right but people willing to have an open conversation vs not willing to have an open conversation. I listened to the Trump and Fetterman one and thought they were both really good. I think he's popular because people just want politicians that seem authentic these days. Politicians like Trump, Bernie, and Fetterman feel authentic to people and they prove that when they're willing to have an open conversation for 3 hours.

Harris was offered a slot on Rogan's show. Her campaign astonishingly declined.
not quite, they tried to negotiate on terms (which is okay and normal) and rogan decilined the terms which is also okay and normal.

It's not grand scheme of anything. it just didnt come together.

But also Harris had nothing to gain from a Rogan interview. He was always going to endorse trump becuase of not wanting to lose his fanbase. He would have purely just did a "after to talking to both of them i endorse trump" would only be damaging.

I'm no fan of Rogan, but agree that this was a misstep from a campaign that otherwise tended to handle media appearances brilliantly.
Yeah they definitely should have gone on. I was reading a NYT article about why people decided to vote for Trump and one of them did say it was after the Rogan podcast. Like it or not, some people make decisions that way.
