I'm not a huge fan of Rogan, but characterizing setting snobby terms and refusing to actually meet the people who don't want to vote for you (yet?) on eye level as "it just didn't come together" is just an incredibly ignorant take. She didn't have anything to gain from that interview? Reminder, she lost the election. So yes, she had a lot to gain from that interview, i.e. potential voters. This was not a small mishap: I do think this decision is indicative of what went wrong in her campaign.not quite, they tried to negotiate on terms (which is okay and normal) and rogan decilined the terms which is also okay and normal.
It's not grand scheme of anything. it just didnt come together.
But also Harris had nothing to gain from a Rogan interview. He was always going to endorse trump becuase of not wanting to lose his fanbase. He would have purely just did a "after to talking to both of them i endorse trump" would only be damaging.
Agreed. She appeared in other unexpected contexts, wanting to meet voters "where they are". Rogan would have been a similar rare opportunity to break into a media space that wouldn't normally feature her or her priorities. She should have found a way to do it.So yes, she had a lot to gain from that interview, i.e. potential voters.
Joe Rogan Experience FTW!
All the doctors and scientists are great guests.
Joe Rogan is a tool MAGA head.

Who just sits and listens to entire podcast episodes? What are we in 1937 listening to FDR's fireside chats on a radio the size of a small fridge? You do realize most people listen to podcast episodes while doing other tasks like house chores, working out, driving, etc? So yes, everyone has something better to do than listen to people talk for hours at a time. But listening to conversations, especially ones they find interesting, helps a lot of people pass the time during more banal activities. This is one of the more bizarre flexes I've seen from anyone on here in all my years of frequenting this forum...I have better things to do than listen to people bloviate for three hours, regardless of their views. 😴

Yes! I love that show. The banter between Conan, Sona and Matt often rivals if not surpasses the interactions with the actual guest. I can be having the worst day and they always manage to make me smileIt’s mind boggling that Conan OBrien Needs a Friend isn’t on any list. The pod is amazingly fun!
I heard there was talk of gerbils.
Fair enough. I'm not of the same opinion but you're certainly allowed to not like him. While I phrased it in the way you're describing, I was more referring to 3 hours of a single guest bloviating, which is ridiculous. Yawn.
Plus, I just can't stand Rogan, which stems from him twenty years ago. I've refused to even listen to his drivel after seeing him on TV back in the early 2000s with Fear Factor and his so-called "stand up" career. His voice is annoying and his mannerisms are grating. His politics, whatever they are, are irrelevant.
I think they were goose stepping and carrying flags around recently.I don’t know who could listen to Tucker Carlson but he’s in a couple of those lists.
I think they were goose stepping and carrying flags around recently.
Well, this explains a whole lot.1. The Tucker Carlson Show
It’s not about free speech at all. This free speech whining became so cringe and sad. Give it a rest already.
Thank you. It’s not about free speech at all.
All they want is to say whatever they want without any negative reactions or real life repercussions.
(Debunked) misinformation, lies, ridicule, bullying. If you don’t sit still and take it then you’re a part of “cancel culture” and a “leftist” even if you actually a conservative who just has common sense.
It’s not censorship when anyone points out how they disagree with you. And it’s also not censorship when private businesses, like Disney or similar big corporations cut ties with you because you got someone else angry or because your unhinged hot takes on something doesn’t align with their values and image.
No part of US government has ever gone in and censored anything on podcasts like the JRE.
Nobody has the power or right to censor right wing media. That’s simply not the case. Stop repeating this lie.
Joe has tons of guests on that even he thinks are crazy and nobody has ever stepped in and stopped him or even just added disclaimers to the highly misleading, unproven pseudoscience that so many of them spew.
The only obstacles Rogan faces is all the critical thinkers out there who point fingers at him when his show reeks.
When what you say is obviously dumb and easily debunked people should call you out.
Media is supposed to be a conversation, not a one way phone call. People call you back and call you out if what you say is dumb.
It’s not censorship, it’s a conversation or an argument. Neither of those are censorship.
But, obviously, this entire “censorship” and “cancel culture” stuff just benefits Joe in the end as it adds to the false narrative of him being some sort of martyr for the truth when he’s really just in it for the hundreds of millions.
The right being so madly in love with this doughy, bow tie wearing, pro-Russia talking head, who’s practically on his knees every day begging Putin to overthrow the U.S. government, is beyond me.Well, this explains a whole lot.
Specially, how does anyone like Carlson?
I actually agree with you on the first part. Disney has a right to fire people they don't like. I think where it got dicey and where the right felt censored was during COVID and the 2020 election with the Hunter Biden Laptop story, that was reported around as "Russian disinformation" which ended up being true. Whether or not you think that is a big deal is up to you, but the truth was censored in the media which favored the left in an election year. So I think the right rejoices some that the days of "Twitter censorship" where you could get banned for being a jerk are over. Many believe a fundamental part to free speech is having a platform to speak, and many right wing ideas got banned in that era. It’s not about free speech at all.

I think many on the right would disagree with you, many people have a pro nationalistic stance that they just want to stay out of foreign conflicts altogether. Isolationism in the US has far reaching history in both the Democratic and Republican Parties. Just because someone doesn't want to send billions to Ukraine doesn't mean they love Russia/Putin.The right being so madly in love with this doughy, bow tie wearing, pro-Russia talking head, who’s practically on his knees every day begging Putin to overthrow the U.S. government, is beyond me.
Who would actually say they think Carlson is a cool guy?
Specially, how does anyone like Carlson?
And why aren’t Americans who are so blatantly hot for Putin more ashamed of themselves? Or at least arranging their move to Russia so that they can finally live out their fantasies and submit to the big, alpha patriarch instead of just daydreaming about it?
