Point 1. They should make weed illegal everywhere in the US. The obesity problem is real and we need to do everything possible to reduce it.

Are you high? What a ridiculous comment. Americans didn't get fat because some of them smoke weed and like to scarf down Cheetos.

Marijuana is the scourge of the West. When are people going to wake up to the fact that they have been indoctrinated into a Cult of Weed?

Marijuana dumbs down the masses.

Aren't you thinking of alcohol? Do you live in the middle of some weed subculture hotspot or something? Because I'm guessing you haven't seen heroine destroy a community yet.

Why don't we ban alcohol while we're about it.

There is no threat of a law suit against them over the apps. If someone breaks Apple's TOS that's on them, not Apple. Apple is one of the most valued companies in the world, good luck going up against their lawyers over someone else breaking the TOS Apple has.

Your silly anti reasons are just that, silly.

Only in Marijuana-Legal states? Why? Let's not pretend anything here, it's available pretty much anywhere in the world regardless of its legal status and a hell of a lot more people than you think smoke it on a regular basis. Time to accept people's lifestyle choices and just allow the apps Apple!

At least Safari still allows you to visit the sites and forums still.

Pfft.

For goodness sake people, point 1 was a total joke. I have updated my original post since clearly everyone is sensitive.

For point two, i was just imagining why Apple might want to enforce geofensing of the App. I am not advocating anything. I have not stated a position as either for or against weed -- unless it is crabgrass in which case I firmly stand against it.

Yes my comment was ridiculous. It was meant to be so. I guess humor is lost on people when it comes to weed. I would have thought the opposite.

Marijuana dumbs down the masses.

Wow. I almost spit my coffee out reading that.

You have to understand there are people that make all sorts of silly claims so hearing your point 1 wouldn't be that much of a stretch for someone to make.

And how the hell were we supposed to know your comment (before edited) was sarcasm? Especially since I wouldn't put it past some people to actually believe such things.

Obviously not that obvious since I wasn't exactly the only person who... um... 'fell for it.' Point out to me exactly how I was meant to conclude the post was an obvious joke.
Cannabis --> munchis --> obesity --> ha ha ha

It is legal over your side of the pond in some places? Here in the UK it really is not, although that doesn't seem to stop people - especially those from deprived neighbourhoods - using by it all the time on the street. Horrible to.walk past.

It's legal for medicinal use in 23 states and has recently been legalized for recreational use in 4 states. With legal pot shops that pay taxes and everything. The US is slowly but surely developing a large, legal marijuana industry.

----------

Point 2. I wonder if Apple is concerned about getting sued in states where weed is illegal. I can imagine a situation where someone uses an app to cross the border and score weed, bringing it back to their state. they get arrested confesses that they used the app, and blam, lawsuite against Apple. i am not a lawyer, but given the way things work in this country, I see a scenario where the person was high and was in accident, which leads an amulance chasing lawyer to sue Apple for allowing the app, which somehow is responsible for the accident.

Right, because you need an app to score weed in states where it's legal. How did we stoners ever get along without smartphones?

No irony, sarcasm, or humor ahead.

Legal or not, appropriate for 50-year-olds with cancer suffering from weight loss or not, the medical evidence today indicates that it is not good for teenagers and young adults. My $0.02.

Its something my mum would probably believe. In fact, chances are, she does. The ill educated will believe anything, even giant omnipotent creators that see and know everything that is and will be. The ludicrous points aside, where was I able to tell this was all sarcasm? Am I to take all of the ludicrous pro-gun posts on this forum as sarcasm from now? Because I did genuinely believe that some posters think that guns save lives.

No, actually it doesn't.

But, as iBlazed pointed out, why not ban alcohol and tobacco? Both are far, far worse for teenagers and young adults.

Pot prohibitionists love injecting the word "kids" when talking about marijuana. This is because it's the only leg they have left to stand on.

Aren't you thinking of alcohol? Do you live in the middle of some weed subculture hotspot or something? Because I'm guessing you haven't seen heroine destroy a community yet.

I do. All these people just...sitting around, relaxing! Everyone's so chill, you know? All talking about nonsense, and listening to Phish. It's terrible! It's like some 3rd world hell hole or something.

If it weren't for me, this place would've gone completely boring years ago. I shake the community up by driving around in my glasspacked Civic every night, blaring Nine Inch Nails circa Broken on my cheap car stereo, while playing a few innings of mailbox baseball.

Erm, in which 23 states is it legal? Not true. I'm sure someone caught this already, but the editor should've. It's legal in only four states (WA, OR, CO, AK). It's decriminalized or medically available in 21.

The difference is that rich people do it in their own homes.

Only homeless people don't do it in their own homes.

No, actually it doesn't.

We have banned alcohol and tobacco for certain age groups. And thankfully, smoking in public where I have to breathe.

You can tell the teenager that drove by my house a few years back about how pot is totally safe. Oh wait, that pot head (per medical report) crossed the line and killed him, so you can't. I guess you could put a note in the flowers his mom keeps on the corner.

It’s surprising (and would _definitely_ surprise people) the cultural, economic, social boundaries it crosses.

Wow. I almost spit my coffee out reading that.

I laughed so hard I dropped my bong!
