We recently did a comparison between Blackberry and windows mobile, while blackberry is a nice business tool windows mobile won on the sheer amount of features. Hopefully this is RIM's way of bringing more features to their platform and apples way of getting better support for the mac!

Please, pretty please let it be available for other service providers (not solely Cingular). Something this good should be available to everybody!

When a phone is available for Cingular ... it can also be used on AT&T/SBC, TMobile, & SunCom

The 3 combined have 1 million subscribers more than the next three competitors combined.

Also SIM card phones are what is called "easy ownership" phones. Verizon, Sprint, Alltell ... need to be programmed, whereas anyone having Cingular can use ANY Cingular phone.

The only other iTunes compatible devices other than the iPod is select cell phones by Motorola (ROKR, SLVR L7, RAZR V3i), which have seen extremely sluggish sales and high return rates.

Maybe the high return rates have somehting to do with the crap quality of those phones (and he artificial limitation on the number of tracks stored). A coworker of mine is on his third RAZR, and this one has problems with the keypad not always lighting up when he opens it, he just has to close and reopen it several times until it decides to work. He has a friend who got a SLVR and he says it has problems, too.

Apple needs to get iTunes into Sony-Ericsson and Nokia handsets. Unfortunately, I believe both of those companies wish to start their own mobile music download services instead.

I have been really happy with my SLVR. For me it's a very usable phone. I love iTunes on it. Syncing is seamless. My only gripe is that the OS could be a little snappier.

Don't buy on feature count alone. I've been using a WM phone for 7 months and have wanted to ditch it since the first week. Aside from the horrid user experience, it is very unstable and unresponsive.

I just purchased a BB 8700 and a Nokia e61 and am hoping one of those will be my long term phone. I'm confident either can replace the WM phone easily as the bar is pretty low right now.
