note that Apple's annual profits of $53.4 billion were more than both companies earned combined
And isn't that what it's really all about? In business, it doesn't really matter how much money passes through your hands -- it's how much you can hold onto.

The Apple Car will displace the #2.
Assisted and self driving cars will be a huge benefit for Seniors and those with diving limitations. The big wave of Babyboomers is just about to crest, could be banner years ahead for companies who get it right.

These numbers are all well and good for the wall street type folks, but for me as a consumer, I'd prefer seeing some innovation and some cool products. What I hope we DON'T see soon, is a thinner laptop, a thinner iPhone, a thinner watch, etc. Apple has shown itself that it can really make some great products, lets just give up on the thin design and make a design that will turn heads, but also function great.

What I'd like to see thinned out is there product line. Concentrate on fewer better items.

We all know who the evil one is.

Yes, Big Pharma!

I know it's fashionable to poop on Google around here but I for one use their services all day, every day. It helps me in work and life to answer any question I have. If I need to repair something I find tons of hands on videos on Youtube etc.....

So if I have to look at some ads in return and Google knows my preferences that is a small price to pay.

If only it was so simple.

So the slow down in phone sales that sent everyone into a tizzy still allowed them to increase revenue to become #3. Hmm..... maybe they are not as doomed as thought.

They are doomed, it's just a matter of time, if you had been here a while you would know it's imminent as people go on about how Apple won't be here this time next year and it's he begging img of the end and so on....

But in the meantime they seem to be stubborn enough to keep generating tens of billions of profits from all this garbage they produce threat nobody wants. Not sure how you can make a profit when people simply refuse to buy it, but it keeps happening!

Most would view this as a positive development, but I don't know...

When you're keeping company with Walmart and Exxon Mobil, you can't help but wonder if generating revenue has eclipsed the corporate values that made Apple what it is today.

Or perhaps I just have a case of the Mundays.

Alphabet is 36, not by selling great products, but by reading your private e-mails and data mining your search history to sell ads. We all know who the evil one is.
You want to re-address your definition of evil. Child murderers are evil, alphabet are not.

And poor WalMart. They are closing stores because the stores are not making enough profits... I hope they don't go under anytime soon...

BTW, Trump wants to tax Chinese imports 40%... I wonder how WalMart's customers are going to manage that.

The meaningless revenue chart.

Exactly, profit is much more important, and Apple is #1

Point being, some people are tired of that "thin" race...

More like Android fans are tired of losing the "thin" race...

Yes... bash the "big pharma" all you want.

When you really need them, everybody eats their own words in silence.

You are aware that Google's motto is "don't be evil" right? I don't think they were taking about avoiding killing children. When you claim to be a company that does no harm you have to expect to be called on the carpet when you do things that seem morally questionable to some.

CEO needs to be upgraded...its current outdated. Lol
Certainly not. At least judging by profit or revenue.
[doublepost=1465239858][/doublepost]So glad to see Apple's continued success. This is a great company that makes great products which people love to use.

I don't care about profit other than consumers' perspective.

Is someone back tracking, yesterday they were evil, today they are morally questionable.. what will they be tomorrow.? A nuisance? Stop playing to the gallery, thinking that slagging off any of apples competitors gets you likes and up votes. Pathetic.

I don't know who you think you are talking to. I didn't say anything about Google yesterday, other than respond to your post. I'm not the person that made the original comment. I was pointing out that your comment made it appear that you were ignorant of the fact that Google's motto is don't be evil, but looking at the rest of your post you are just ignorant, period. Don't know what your problem is, but you need to chill out, dude.

You want innovation AND bulkiness! LOL

Behind Exxon Mobil, the company that lied about knowing about climate change, and has bought politicians as human shields for its millions...

Apple is so much better than that...

The only Apple product that NEEDS to be thinner at this point is Apple Watch. It's definitely chunky. The laptop line, tablet line, & phones are all adequately svelte!
Most wanted: better 3D Touch- added to iPads for faux physical controls in apps that you can actually feel "click" (or slide, or whatever...), multiple user accounts (or at least a guest account option) on iOS 10, a new Mac Mini to replace my now defunct late 2009 27" iMac (just found out that I can use it as a monitor for my Mini; when I get it!), & that's really my immediate list.
I do respect Apple's cunning with their new tiering for storage - VERY clever. Make 32gb the low (as we've seen now on the last two iPad releases...), but then- eschewing the 64gb option, make the next tier of 128gb a $150 leap, instead of $100. Damn. Fiendishly clever. Whatever they lose out in profit from giving the 32gb now in their cheapest option, they'll likely make up in the extra $50 in mid tier pricing. *smh*
