Mouse ... mouse ... mouse ... I read mouse everywhere. Stop thinking like living in the 90s with Windows 98. I never use a mouse on MacBook since many years.

Magic Trackpad support is the only way to go! It even give us 3D Touch on iPad.

Really Apple needs to come up with a combo device and get the iPad and Macbook into one thing. I gave up my iPad and plan to get a Macbook Air because I really can't see the advantage to an iPad. I hate typing on a screen, and it does nothing for me in terms of productivity that doesn't involve me yelling at it. Great for games and videos, but beyond that not much. I can live without games and can watch movies on a laptop just as easily, AND type and process photos. Yes, having a mouse and keyboard would make an iPad more productive, but then you are at a laptop. Just combo them and be done with it.

If you're gonna post a rumor like this might as well post one that makes sense - they would not add USB mouse but no bluetooth mouse support, that makes no sense.

If anyone needs keyboard and a mouse on there iPad they are probably better of getting an Macbook.
iPad-Mode is nice as tablet form factor, MacBook-Mode is nice as a laptop form factor. Why must be one or the other being limited because of this ******g mouse pointer?? I don't want to have nearly the same device form factor/size and a limited sync to both devices.
If I want to open the web browser, my tabs should be there, doesn't matter if there is a mouse pointer or not.
macOS can be easily used with a Trackpad like an iPad and iOS is the same, it can be also easily used with an Trackpad attached.

I think most of the people who complain never used 100%-only a Trackpad. I never use a mouse since years. Also nobody is forced to use any pointer device if they don't want. Same as the pencil.

Please stop telling me which is good for me. I know it better then the rest.

I've never wanted to plug a mouse into my iPad. I HAVE, however, wanted to plug USB storage into my iPad and iPhone.

I'd love to be able to plug in a thumbdrive and see it pop up in the Files app. I'm sure a lot of us feel the same way, and hope Apple finally adds this capability in iOS 13.

It's also being rumoured for iOS 13, as well as being able to run several instances of an app at the same time, with some sort of floating window system. If they can deliver on all of that, it'll turn the iPad Pros into touch screen MacBooks. That would be freaking awesome

It might be one of those things that is contentious within the team, so they will try to seek it in. I hope they realize that it would increase sales 2 fold. I know if they do this I will use iOS more.

Come to think of it, if they are serious about cross platform, which I think they are, wouldn't this be a necessity?

If this does turn out to be true AND you can use a proper drive to access files, then it is a no brainer for my family to upgrade to an iPad Pro with keyboard and magic mouse.

Just needs separate sign in support!

The mouse is the missing part for the iPad Pro to challenge a laptop for productivity. With it's support for external monitors I could easily see myself make do with an iPad Pro together with a dock with monitor, dock and keyboard. For the power apps I could use Horizon.

Finally.

It's one of those features you need to add (at least as an option) if you truly want the iPad to replace an actual computer. Using a touchscreen for serious work is just plain inefficient.

Always the best way is to add the feature and let the consumer decide.

This will be a game changer in a lot of ways for the iPad pro... like this no longer will be just a tablet device, and people will be able to do actual work on it, it's going to be interesting to see.

When Apple allows you to use a keyboard, mouse and monitor with their phones I'll be willing to spend over $1000 for an iPhone.

Imagine in the future the only computer you need is your phone which you carry around in your pocket. When you get home you dock it (wired/ wirelessly ) and use it like a computer.

You can already do that on a Samsung phone, like the Galaxy S series. By the way, not just a wired mouse but a wired keyboard as well.

When will Apple incorporate an SD card housing on an iPad or iPhone like Samsung does is yet another question. I guess never because it is a counter profit measure.

USB mouse support would be a little odd... why no bluetooth mouse support in this day and age?
Seriously though! I used to JB my phone/pad back in the day just to play Wii games on my iPad with the Wii Remote haha! Oh how times have changed...lock down.

Calling it now. Wired mouse support will be free. Wireless will require buying proprietary Apple solution.

Trackpad is poor for certain use cases like spreadsheets, coding, etc.

I believe more users has been rumoured as well.

If the iPad is supposed to replace a computer then it should accept any USB device. Period. Not doing so, is just Apple being arrogant.
