Where are the speaker holes at the bottom of the cases? In the one picture it shows how to attach a lanyard, it shows the USB-C port but no speaker holes. Unless I’m missing something here.
The fabric doubles as a speaker grill, so no holes are needed. ;)

Yeah I think that's what the poster was saying - the actual phone will have the Apple logo closer to the bottom but on this case it looks like it will still be central

Apple needs to have got this right - its far too similar to the disaster which was FineWoven which Apple admitted was garbage by virtue of the fact they withdrew them from sale.

That said, the moment every attention seeking Youtuber gets their hands on one of these they will do their utmost to paint it in a bad light and scuff and scratch it to prove a point.

Anything made out of a fabric is going to wear, scuff, or show nail scratches.

This had better be good otherwise they will find themselves in trouble.

But.... This seems too close to FineWoven and im not sure how many people who had their fingers burned though the FineWoven experience will be willing to try this new version out.

The position on the case is in-between the previous centered position and the rumored moved-down “centered on the lower section” position. So it doesn’t match either of the two.

Last time I used an Apple case, it bounced out of the case when it fell. Apple, ever helpful, opted not to cover the damage caused by their case failing.

I can't imagine how many phones are going to suffer "cosmetic damage" due to people using these cases with a lanyard.

"TechWoven"?

Just release some vegan leather cases, will ya?
There’s no such thing as vegan leather, by definition: material made from the skin of an animal by tanning or a similar process

“Vegan leather” is, at best, bits of plant material in a binder, such as plastic, which is actually worse for the environment.

Just bring back leather, actually better for the environment, and won’t end up in landfill as quickly as any synthetic material.

I’ve been using Apple leather cases since they first came out with my 5s, then my X, and my current 13 Pro… I think many users still prefer that to silicone or anything “woven.” I’m surprised they haven’t found a way to use a vegan leather that would satisfy both leather fans and their Apple 2030 initiative. As of now, whenever I get around to upgrading, I’ll probably be looking at a 3rd party leather case for the first time.

I wonder if this all comes down to profit margins.

I'm going to guess TechWoven is cheaper to make with a completely automated machine process than a vegan leather case that requires manual hand-finishing.

Vegan leather is generally a PU-coated/blended composite material that’s hard/impossible to recycle. Maybe the Apple material is better in that aspect.
Vegan leather is also very susceptible to damage from contact with low volatility, polar organic compounds that users may have on their hands. A classic example is the insect repellent DEET. A drop of DEET on vegan leather will cause a gigantic blister to form. The blistering often seen on the vegan leather headrests in Tesla vehicles are another example of this problem.

No leather no purchase, simple as that. And before I get hate about it being an animal product, its a natural byproduct of meat production. No one on earth kills a cow just for leather. The cow is killed for meat and the hide is a secondary product (as is the bones for broth and gelatin, etc etc)
Hmm… I don’t think it’s that simple that it’s a byproduct of meat production. The demand for leather sure affects the situation too, no?

Should have never stopped selling leather cases.
Yes, Apple shot itself in the foot with this, especially since it did so based on a rationale that is difficult to walk back. I know from the automotive world that there are some truly convincing and luxurious faux (“vegan”) leathers now, but Apple at the very least should have been ready with one of these if it was going to eliminate real leather as an option.

And Apple’s decision is even worse with respect to the Apple Watch. There is no true third-party substitute for Apple’s leather link bands, which were absolutely incredible. Losing those has made me question whether I will ever buy another Apple Watch.

This leak completely ended my delulu idea that the design of iPhone 17(26?) will be completely different from the leaks 🙈
This thing is going to be ugly

I laughed out loud at the ridiculous shape of the case, LOL! It looks almost like a cookie cutter. Half the case is a hole, LOL! Funny stuff.
