I agree that a 10.5 iPad is on its way but why make this their 'bezel-less flagship' iPad rather than the 12.9? Apple has historically placed a flagship status on its largest screened devices. Certainly as far as iOS devices go. With this being the case, wouldn't it make more sense to release bezel-less 10.5 and 12.9? Which pro user would sacrifice screen real estate for thin bezels? Style over substance. Thoughts?
My guess is that a 12.9" iPad will likely be used on a desk, and so bezels isn't that huge of a concern. A 10.5" iPad is still within the "portable" threshold, so any attempts to make it thinner and smaller and lighter to hold is always welcome.

As a teacher who walks around the classooom with a 9.7" iPad Pro in hand, any reduction in weight or bulk is always appreciated.

What about the iMac and Mac Mini? iPad is dead.

iMac has a longer update cycle now.

Personally, I wanted the (iconic) iMac to get an update before or alongside new iPad's but given zero iMac rumors we may have to keep holding our breath.

I know you're being slightly sarcastic. But that wouldn't make sense, being the iPad is set to revamp and Apple is going to boast the newest features during The KeyNote, given the millions of people tune in to Apple's keynote's. This is their opportunity twice a year to market their newest products. Quietly updating the iPad on their website would do more harm than good. And if this new iPad offers strong updates, then this would be beneficial to market it.

The concept I agree with, the execution has been poor recently. I used to love my keynotes, and not being from the US, meant staying up or waking up at 4am to watch them. Now I just read the summary after. The content and presentation is poor these days. Large part of that is TC having no personality on stage.

My concern is that the updates will be weak, as in slight bumps and a new size . The 9.7 iPad Pro did not need a keynote.

I'm all for keynotes , as long as apple can make them great again.

Kinda indifferent about this since iOS 11 is not out yet which means it is just going to run the same ol OS without any additional iPad features to make it stand out more.

Oh well, my iPad Air 2 is doing incredible even on the latest iOS 10b3 and there are no features from the "Pro" i miss.

I do agree the March 2016 Keynote was rather dull, aside from the iPhone SE launching. And I did not take into consideration that you live in the UK, where are you not able to watch the keynote during a certain hour.

Yes, Tim Cook is definitely not as energetic on stage as Jobs was. But that's just the difference in personality. I still think Tim Cook has a lot of passion, he is not as exuberant the way Jobs was.

Anyways, it should be an interesting keynote, as iPad rumors are definitely in first place right now.

These new iPads are going to hasten the demise of "real computers". I'm expecting some incredible announcements from Apple in the next few weeks.

Yeah. I totally see me writing code and managing server farms with a tablet.... Hmmm-Mmmmh....

And I'm no longer expecting incredible announcements from Apple. It'll just be more of the same - just thinner. True innovation happens elsewhere.

I just hope that give the iPad a major update.

I love my iPad Pro, though it just frustrates me as a "computer" replacement ....yesterday I had to download a document and sign it and upload it to a website.....what a pain in the ****. I hope there are software updates for the pro units .

It's okay when I'm in the UK, that like a 1800 keynote, when I'm in Australia it's 3-4am :p

10.5 OLED with reduced bezels and I'm sold.

Well he does tend to say "we have a lot of exciting products in the pipeline" or variations, a lot. A real lot. One day he will actually have to walk the talk.

... that's all nice, but does it do Stickers??

That's the sort of killer-feature I (as a consumer) as really looking for!

The Mac Pro still is a top-notch machine (can't innovate anymore my ass) because Apple otherwise wouldn't sell it and the new MacBook has plenty enough memory (no person is ever going to need more than 16gb ram anyways).

Brace for new stickers, guys! Apple has clearly shown his priorities by now!

Wouldn't it be weird for Apple to introduce the edge-to-edge design that is expected to be a key feature of the next iPhone so long before the actual next iPhone? I'm also thinking about the removal of the Home button that could probably involve a major new build of iOS before WWDC.

Good point.
TouchID integrated under the display and OLED (maybe with a dark mode) will likely need the new version of iOS, so during WWDC we may get some insights on the new products.
It would be weird to introduce a completely new iPad 6 months before the new iOS version release date and before their main product (iPhone) is announced.

I'd expect a revamped iPad next month, maybe some cool accessories, but not a complete breakthrough.

There won't be OLED on the iPad before the iPhone. Since they are rumoured to put OLED into the iPhone in September I don't think we will see an OLED iPad until at least next year if not the year after.

I don't necessarily think that iPhone takes presidence over the iPad, being they are two separate product lines. But if they do release an iPad with OLED, as it's been rumored, it would make sense why the OLED iPad would release a little later due to parts supplier constraints. Either way, it doesn't make a difference to me as long as we can see something separating itself from the other iPads with this new 10.5 inch form factor.

April seems a weird date. 2 months off WWDC, situated near to Apple new campus. This rumoured iPad just seems too much change to release without developers having their hands on the OS changes.
