#SurfaceStudioEffect it takes time to copy.... Studio took 6 years, over a mile of cable in those hinges. A year to get the Dial material correct. Imac was supposed to launch last year the a day before Studio happened, they pulled it thats why it seemed out of sorts mac launch event (The had to fill in time) . Want to see one simply watch TwiT Apl fanboy Leo Lapport uses one. Makes the smaller Macbook Pros look like toys.

IMac has to respond to Studio, or it would be simply mocked and ignored, eventually fade.

I agree. I have an IPad Air 2 which works great, but I would definetly upgrade to the 10.5" if it had the same form factor as the 9.7".

The surface studio seems like an iMac you can write on, when I saw it I wasn't very impressed, who wants to write on a screen that big, maybe architects and designers but personally I'm not a fan of touch screen computers (Like the Surface) anyway. I really hope Apple doesn't do on, I don't think they will. The iMac is a great design and with the 5K screen i cant see what else they can upgrade.

I would not mind a lighter iPad with almost no bezels. That said the biggest change has to come into the OS. Time keeps talking about computer replacement. Sorry to say it won't happen until there is a file structure environment.
I have my Pro 12.9. Love it but for consuming entertainment, browse the internet, occasional email, etc, not for work. It is just not feasible as it is.
 
I guess no jet white iPhone then.

I'm a bit curious if Apple is simply adding the 128GB to the existing lineup, or if the SE will get a refresh.

Thats you , like I said many choose the Studio as its the best drawing/photo editing device made... simple. Its the perfect device for certain pros and makes you feel like a sports telestrator...at similar cost IMac look Meh

To deny the appeal of Studio , is simply being an apl fan. Apl pulled IMac so they took notice. You really think two/three Macbooks was all in last years event? Its like when MSFT pulled the Surface Mini...last minute. Great device but not enough to compete. 2019 for HoloLens successor save your $$$.

Would Apple release new technology, more specifically an iPad with no home button, before this appears on an iPhone? It generally seems they keep these kind of big features for the iPhone release and the iPad gets it on its next refresh. Some might argue True Tone came first to the iPad and not yet to the iphones, but one might also argue it is not a huge feature.
 
I think I'm a pretty vocal critic of Apple. But all of this looks like good stuff to me.

I'd like to get an iPad mini with LTE to carry out and about and a 12.9" for when I'm at home.

Also I hate to admit this. But the AirPods are beginning to slowly grow on me. I'm seriously thinking of buying a pair.

Not really related, but I happened to meet someone last week who was wearing an Apple watch. They said they liked it a lot.

I see Verizon unlimited data, iPhone 7+ 256GB, iPad mini 5, Apple watch and AirPod as being a winning configuration.
 
Apparently Apple thinks the reason the iPad market is stagnating is the lack of size options. Not - you know - significantly advancing the hardware and software feature set.

Im being glib - I know there are advancements with the introduction of the "pro" line, I just wish it could be a more full featured 'computer' out of the box, not needing to cobble together 3rd party apps to make it useful. USB C, HDD support and full file system would be ace.

Very interesting PoV.

May explain the info-mertial that turned out to be the last Mac launch event. [Some in here explained the absence of iMacs due to intel being laggard with desktop-grade silicon.] But in retrospect the Studio probably caught even Cook, Schiller and company with the pants down and bent over.

So we will see the redesign hit the iPad 6 months before the iPhone? Really?!?!?

Personally I would LOVE a 7.9" iPad Pro for the speakers alone.

Winning configuration= ~$2000+

Well yea that's why it's a personal opinion and it's your opinion as well when you say "it's the the best drawing/photo editing device made" because I would argue editing is much better on a Mac and so would many video editors. And yea I am an Apple fan, I use their products because they work great and serve me well and have done for many years.

Your turn to say some really really really nonsensical color names that no company would ever in a million years use to describe a shade, you know, because it's like opposite of the color.

Same can be said as a fan of Microsoft, great products that served me well over the years. its not like Apl has a secret sauce LOL, why not poll those many video editor friends and ask what they would rather receive. Imac or Studio. Perhaps that would explain why Imacs are overdue.

In the professional App ...the OS no longer matters so even those who like MacOS have no reason to stay with older Imac
 
I guess I don't see the advantage of adding less than an inch to the existing iPad screen. What value do we get out of this? Wouldn't it be better just to reduce the footprint of the 9.7 instead of adding a completely different model? And why not do the no bezel thing across the board? Apple is really sleeping on tablets. I do honestly believe I can use an iPad only in the future, I want to, but too many compromises on the software side and not much advancement.

Nope, it's three iPad sizes with one older model with a different size hanging around as the entry-level model. Are you against older models being sold at a lower price? Are you against increasing the screen size (and screen resolution) for a given physical size?

I love my iPad Pro, it's easily my favorite Apple device - I can't wait for a new version! I hope they let us pick them up on launch day like last time!

I suppose it's a personal preference. My preference would be dedicating all Apple engineers to a few really great products rather than a bunch of different iterations of the same thing.

It may seem trivial (oh we are changing screen size or oh we are painting it red) but we have seen it ourselves what has happened with the Jet Black option. People are freaking out because their mirror finish phone is scratching.
