It’s the case on the Airpod Pros that **** me you can’t find them. I wish they’d have some sort of Bluetooth connection (or even better and more low powered).

I ended up doing this to my case (I know you can buy them but I already had the case, sometimes you have to do it yourself!)

I would’ve thought that Apple would have a better solution by now

I guess I’ll have to carry on using my airtag to keep track of my AirPods. To be fair I don’t know what I’d switch it to anyway once the upgrade comes.

I’ve done the same thing.

Oh I'm the same!! I am constantly loosing the case (either with or without the AirPods in them.... Considering doing this as well!!

I wonder if it's because FindMy for airpods requires that phones receiving their pings have updated software and they don't want to release the feature into the wild 'broken' because no one has that update yet. I.e. they'll enable it when a certain percentage of users has iOS 15 or whatever iOS 14 update adds it.

With the exception of the M1 powered 12.9" iPad Pro, I can honestly say I've been utterly underwhelmed by everything they've released in 2021!

Okay, let me be the advocate of the devil: I think it is fine that apple smears out features over a couple of point releases. Because if it is half baked or buggy, us nerds complain about it like there is no tomorrow: "How could they have released this with so many bugs?!" and "They should have tested it more!". Well, here we are: They are testing it more and they are squashing more bugs BEFORE they release it. And now we are not happy anymore?

Apple will NEVER ship a new iPhone with an 'old' OS, so that's why they will ship the iPhone 13 with a 'stripped down' version of iOS 15 and add extra features along the way. Works both ways: more stability and more buzz across the web when a new functionality is added.

Homepods lossless and Atmos support for Apple Music content?. Later this fall.

Shareplay?. Later this fall.

Find my for Airpods?. Later this fall.

Icloud private relay?. Currently in beta.

Apple Maps 3D road perspective?. Gone, perhaps abandoned.

At this point, it would help to know what "later this fall, means?. Âż15.1?. ÂżNovember?.

I am all for meticulous testing and development, but perhaps it would help not to announce things so quickly if they arent going to be ready for the initial public release. Announce them when they are ready, or very close to being ready.

There is no rush. Don´t introduce features for the sake of it, Apple.

On this, I agree completely. Its just that I think they should have announce these features close to the actual release.

As it is, it makes their software development strategy look sloppy, IMHO.

I’d be very cautious about downloading iOS15 today when it releases unless its a different build than the RC. The RC is riddled with bugs that are not worth upgrading for.

Already the standard feature of "find my" for the normal AirPods is subpar.

I had misplaced my AirPods and tried finding them with my iPhone XS. No luck, even though they were charged, but last connected/used 2 days ago. It showed my home location more than 24 hours ago, but by mistake I dropped them in my tissue box at work.

I went around the whole office and was only 1 feet away with my phone. A sound never played, the phone never found them. It was only when the tissue box was empty a week later that I discovered them.

Looks like the limitations of working remotely is starting to make itself felt at Apple. No wonder Tim Cook is so anxious to get everyone back at headquarters.

So.

People complain when software is buggy and declining software quality.

People complain when software features are delayed.

🤷‍♂️

Was looking forward to this feature. I am guessing at least 15.2, and they might just quietly remove it from the web site thinking we won’t notice.

When Apple announces a new OS at WWDC, the features are not all intended for the .0 release. It is a roadmap of what to expect from .0,.1,.2,etc.
