The iPad 4 was my first Apple product and iPad. My mom is still currently using it but my sister and I got her a 9th gen iPad for Christmas this year. So it will be a history piece going forward.

When I bought my 2015 Cadillac Escalade in early 2014 I saw on my sales persons desk a new Cadillac iPad black box which comes with a iPad and letter plus software installed to use OnStar remote app and the new Cue system. I begged my sales person to get me one since it was for the ATS & XTS buyers. I told him I would give him $500 if he found one new for me. Cadillac was giving anyone who bought a 2013 XTS a free iPad. The early ones was the iPad 3 30 pin connector then the iPad 4 with the lightning connector. When the sales person found me one from a customer that didn't want it, I rushed over to buy it. I can't imagine anyone not wanting one. I always thought he just didn't tell the customer they come with it and sold it to me. I wanted to keep the box sealed and save it as a collectors item so I took it home and put it in my closet. For about3 months I didn't open it then one day I couldn't resist and opened it. I thought to myself that if I keep it for 20 years the battery is going to leak and damage the unit, also I wanted to enjoy it and try out the Cue software which is really neat. It simulates a dashboard of a Cadillac with Cue. The Cue comes in the ATS, CTS, XTS, CT6 & Escalade. Cue is basically the Android software the radio runs and its part of the gauge cluster. The iPad comes with engraving on the back that says "Cadillac" in black cursive and a Apple grey iPad magnetic screen cover in grey with Cadillac written on it. The Cue app is only available on these iPads and you can't download it anymore so unless you have it in your App Store or iPad your screwed. This is a big part which makes the iPad special. I reformatted my iPad a year ago and the Cue app was nowhere to be found. I eventually found it in my App Store which stores it. In 20 years when my 2018 Escalade becomes a classic and I take it to classic car shows I can open the Cue app and put the iPad on a stand in my 2018 Escalade which would look pretty cool. I now keep the iPad in my living room still in 2024 and use it to go on the web to check Trump news, emails and use apps to control my electronics. The battery still holds a charge like it did when new which is amazing. The whites are still bright white and the screen has not lost quality. I was sad when Apple decided to stop allowing updates in 2019. Now allot of my apps don't work anymore or can't be updated like Facebook, eBay, Amazon, and most importantly my kids kid app's but Tic Tock still works. I wish Apple would offer a CPU update like the PC's. This iPad 4 is starting to make me feel nostalgic but still is useful for many tasks and feels great to use with the perfect weight and look.
