I'm pretty sure my thumbs hitting a solid piece of glass is enough feedback. I might be inclined to turn it on instead of the audio feedback though. 🤔

I'm not sure how it has anything to do with it being a feature on Android, but the fact that you need electricity to make the haptic engine vibrate it's just common sense you'll use more battery life with it on vs. off.

Unless you type a lot most users probably won't notice to much of a difference.

Just hating on Android for something Apple took "inspiration" from and brought to ios and you can turn off either operating system?
Seems obvious but shows you what apple thinks of their users if they have to state the obvious.

should be fine - given that Apple had "virtual" buttons (e.g. the home button) for quite some time.
The nerves in the fingers like to be tricked ...

Had it enabled since the beta. Was enabled on my 14 pro max as I set it up from my 13 pro max. I turned it off yesterday though as it was annoying me. First time I have had to do lots of typing and it became pretty grating. Quite happy with it off and bonus if it saves wasting a bit of battery.

I turned this on immediately and I didn’t notice a battery decrease during the beta (it actually seemed better than normal for a beta) and it seems absolutely fine on my iPhone 14 Pro.

I really do like this feature. Somehow I feel like I type faster. It’s like my brain registers that I’m making presses better and somehow that’s an improvement.

Yeah, me too! I feel much faster for some reason, I guess because my brain is getting that confirmation of an action being taken (I also love clicks mechanical keyboards for that same reason).

The audible clicks don’t have quite the same effect, and I got annoyed at the constant clicking sound.

How does everyone feel about this feature after a few months? I love it but not sure how much battery life I would be able to save, had I have it switched off.

A few months in, it’s like we’ve had this feature for ages. The haptic I gives the user an extra feedback method to allow you to look away from the screen to scan for system response, such has hold delete for continuous deleting, etc.

It may drain battery, but I feel it brings more than just finger pleasure.

It can lag and not keep up with my typing so I disabled the haptics and the sound effects. They sometimes fall out of sync. Latency and response time is an issue with software keyboards in general so when we have extra effects those problems can be exacerbated.
