Very dissatisfied, the screen is junk. I returned mine. Apple wants to sell high quality, this isn’t it.

1. Reading in the dark and without light is very harmful to the eyes. In low light, there is no such blooming effect.

2. What's stopping you from choosing any other dark gray or paper color for your reading? Anything other than black. There will be no blooming.

This screen is supposed to be about the blacks. Now you are suggesting use anything but black. I am confused….

Money.
OLED is way more expensive especially on larger panels. miniLED is a regular LCD panel with FALD backlight. It's much cheaper than good quality OLED panels.
You forgot, nits of brightness that OLED is severely disadvantaged. But thanks for that half of the facts, though…😇

I don't think I could deal with this. I am happy with my 2018 Pro and will upgrade when they move to OLED. To see this on such an expensive machine is a disappointment.
Sounds like this whole “tech thing“ is a little confusing. Stick with the 2018 iPad Pro and do a little research to see the benefits of mini LED over OLED before chiming in about disappointment for tech that clearly eludes a fundamental understanding. 😎

I understand the differences/benefits - OLED typically doesn't have this blooming effect, which is what I wouldn't want on my iPad. I'll sacrifice some brightness for no blooming.

And when you come across a burned-out display, you get even more confused.

I offered the person a way out of the situation, which was initially, to put it mildly, not smart.

Why does he need an out , we are talking about a flaw in the tech Apple has chosen
