Not saying it’s deal breaking, but it’s definitely noticeable

Ok. What’s this have to do with anything. Subpar experience is all I seeThe new iPad is the cheapest MiniLED display you can buy...
Pretty much. Looked at a buddy's and couldn't see it on the start up screen. I'm sure peeps are cranking the highlights to get their point across.MacRumors Editors believe that the effect of blooming on the iPad Pro looks less severe in person than it does in images, likely due to exposure and image processing.
miniLED is also just LCD with a different back light.
Only some more expensive iPhone variants use OLED. Even the Pro XDR display (the 5-6k$ thing) does bloom because of the limitation of FALD.
If you try to find faults at regular LCD you can see backlight bleed, grey black etc.Anyone who says they don’t see it is lying

Disagree. Scenes in movies where there are light posts have blooming.
also, others showed more real world examples of blooming.
I got today my 12.9" 2021. Yes, there is some blooming but those pictures make it seem 15x worse than it really is in IRL. (…) the difference in real life and what overexposure in cameras can do.
I will also add that this is with the brightness turned almost all the way down (since I’m viewing at night). It is WORSE than these photos show. Multiple times I’ve attempted to capture what I’m seeing on camera but my iphone can’t effectively capture it due to the contrast of the scene. It looks HORRIBLE compared to a standard LCD since the bloom is so pronounced. On top of that, when watching Netflix at night the blooming goes into the dark bars above and below the film are constantly changing causing a huge distraction.
This may be the first iPad I return, having owned every single generation since release.
I had been wondering how big the issue was for the 32” XDR display for some additional context…it’s significantly worse than the Dell’s Mini LED from the looks of it.

5 Things You Should Know Before Buying the Apple Pro Display XDR
When Apple unveiled the Pro Display XDR in June of 2019, I'll admit that I drank the cool-aid in big refreshing gulps. From design to execution, I hadpetapixel.com
I get mine iPad on Thursday so I’ll be interested to see this for myself. Now that everyone’s talking about it, I notice blooming on my iPad 2018, iPhone (OLED) and OLED TV to some extent. Even more so as I become more tired.
Same here 👌Looking forward to my M2-(or M3-)powered OLED iPad Pro to replace my iPad Pro 2018, which will be plenty powerful enough for at least another 2-3 years.
The 4th gen has LCD display with backlighting. The new 12.9" Pro iPad has more smaller backlights. The 4th gen iPad Pro would be worse for "blooming" if backlights are fewer and larger. The 4th gen has no FALD and therefore no Bloom. The 5th gen is the new M1 iPad.
Iterative upgrades.I don't know why Apple just didn't use OLED in the first place for the iPads..
I was watching Altered Carbon the other day as an awesome example of the HDR qualities and deep blacks of the display. No blooming. It is WORSE than these photos show. Totally agree, yes there is a tiny bit in a really dark room is looking at white text on a black background, but its really not a problem for me. All these images and people saying that the new iPad is crap, I’m guessing most of them don’t even own the new iPad and just going on the BS they see on this forum!
Definitely not seeing this on my ipad, on Netflix of a night time I see it blooming on the title of the show but this is only there for a few seconds, I have not seen anything bleed into the black bars.
