FYI: the iPad Air with the M1 chip was called the iPad Air (5th generation). It is included. They changed the naming going from M2 forwards.
With or without the new files app, so you can VS Code on iPad (if it's ever released). With the new files app, does it mean (in theory) I can run VS Code (if it's ever released) on iPad?
It sounds like windowing is coming to the earlier devices that did not support Stage Manager. So, windowing available on non-silicon devices?
did they kill stage manager? i didnt hear it mentioned once. (i am multitasking)
How exactly have they "flip flopped" on the iPad? You mean by putting a properly windowed UI and a cursor-based interface?I don't believe that for a second. If they have flip-flopped on iPad it's absolutely coming to Mac. Too much demand for it. Other than from sycophants, that is.
I suspect that first entry was meant to have “13 in” added to it.Huh?
Debating lolOkay who is going to be our guinea pig for the developer beta?
Agreed. But thinking about this . . . I assume they meant to refer to the 13" one with the M2 and later reference.Huh?
What looks clear, is that they got the message that Stage Manager, wile “fine”, is not an overwhelmingly used feature. It sounds like windowing is coming to the earlier devices that did not support Stage Manager.
They said briefly that the new windowing works with Stage Manager, so that does not appear to be going away. It's unclear from the presentation whether Stage Manager is also being back ported to models that will get windowing but never had Stage Manager before.
Got an iPad Mini 6th gen - let's see how it goes on this thing...only ever used it to watch movies and streaming content...lol....Okay who is going to be our guinea pig for the developer beta?
The iPad is looking more and more like the Mac, hopefully it'll be a good replacement in the not so distant future
