Welp, ordered the standalone MagSafe charger after seeing that $129 price tag...
It’s just a reference for what the case will look like after repeated use with a MagSafe charger. They explain it in the product info. Very interesting that they’re showing the wear on a product though. I don’t recall them every forewarning customers.I hope that's not on the case, cause the other photos don't show it that visible!
I feel the exact same way. I was planning to buy 2 of these (one for my night stand and one for my office) but there is no way I am dropping $296 for 2 chargers and power adapters. As a side note, I don't really understand the functionality of the leather sleeve. A sleeve makes sense to me for something like a laptop that you put away or take out to use for extended periods of time but I check my iPhone many, many times per day. I would not want to have to spend the time pulling the iPhone out of a sleeve every time I wanted to read a text or check an email. I don't know how many people have a use case where a sleeve would make sense but I am obviously not the target market for the sleeve. You would think for the $129 it would come with the USB-C 20w charger... But nope. So really its $148. ($129 + $19). Was really looking forward to it, but not anymore.
I just cannot wrap my head around the fact that a HomePod Mini is 33% cheaper than a charger and wall plug. I was also planning on getting two. I was expecting $99 with the wall plug. MagSafe is $39, Watch charger is $29 and wall plug is $19. So even at $99 they would be making an additional $12 per unit for the convenience of an all in one.I feel the exact same way. I was really looking forward to getting this. But for $129 plus a power brick for $19? No thank you. I can get something that’ll do the job for $100 or less. And other products come with a power brick.
Apple's online store has listed the MagSafe Duo Charger and Leather Sleeve for iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max as "coming soon" for $129 each in the United States. An exact release date has yet to be announced for the accessories, which still cannot be pre-ordered at this time.

MagSafe is a new feature on all iPhone 12 models that allows for magnetic accessories to be attached to the back of the devices.
Featuring a foldable design with a built-in MagSafe Charger and Apple Watch charging puck, the MagSafe Duo can wirelessly charge a compatible iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods or AirPods Pro case, and other Qi-certified devices. The charger ships with a USB-C to Lightning cable, but the recommended 20W power adapter is sold separately for $19.
The Leather Sleeve covers all sides of iPhone 12 models, with a cutout on the front for the Lock screen clock. On the inside, the sleeve has a pocket for a credit card or ID, and it has an integrated strap for easy carrying. The sleeve is available in four colors: Baltic Blue, Pink Citrus, Saddle Brown, and (PRODUCT)RED.

...for $150. Then the Apple version won't seem so expensive. 😀Just save your money until third party alternatives become available...
Wrong. 110. And they come with a power plug.🤷🏻♂️...for $150. Then the Apple version won't seem so expensive. 😀
And the sleeve too, $129, beyond insaneRidiculous pricing for the MagSafe Duo charger. Too far, Apple.
Ah thanks, I did not read that information. I will not use it with the MagSafe so I don't really care but it's good Apple explains it.It’s just a reference for what the case will look like after repeated use with a MagSafe charger. Maybe be there next to the other so that it can be compared price wise? “oh check, cost as much as a sleeve thingy, what a bargain”?What's the purpose of the sleeve?
Oh wow. That’s idiotic. You’d figure it had enough weight to stay down on a table. Why would anyone want a product like that!?The MagSafe duo was in an Engadget video. The reviewer picked up the phone...and it picks up the charger from the magnetic force. For $148 all in (Buying a dedicated $20 20w plug, as it is not included.) This thing is highway robbery by apple, with a crappy design to boot.
I was actually excited for this because I want a simple charger to magnetically snap in (with a light force) but still allow you to pick the thing up without slinging the charger all over the place.
My thought, exactly. That thing is ugly. Looks like something designed by a 3rd party as a travel accessory.Beyond ridiculous price (for either!). So I can buy a Magsafe Charger for $39 and a watch charger for $29 or both in a plasticy package together as $129? Is this some joke? This isn't even an integrated product. It's literally both seperate chargers with a lighting (???) port. Just look at the thing! $61 to basically hold those two seperate chargers together and that's about it.
Why would I buy this?
Yeah the environment inside Tim Cook's bank accountIt is all for the environment.
Literally. I ordered a leather sleeve from another company (arrived yesterday actually) for $29 + tax. What a joke, glad I didn’t wait for Apple’s....and so is a sleeve thingy at $129... 4x as outrageous.
