I wish to remark that I’m not really impressed with the idea of a (formerly) beautiful square being converted into a sunk-in Apple Store.

I didn't find it beautiful at all. We are in Italy, we have thousands of square you can really call beautiful and unfortunately Milan has only a few of them.
That square was nothing more than a car parking lot until a few years ago. Then they removed the cars, but the square was clearly missing something. I'm not saying it was missing an Apple store, but at least some trees, a sculpture, some more benches...

Then they decided to remove the car and that's how it looked before they began working to the AS

Improved of course, but nothing special.

I wish Apple had decided to open the store some years ago, it would have overhauled the square before the town hall did and we'd save money.
