Has this ever happened before? Releasing regular betas so close to release?
macOS Sierra isn't due to be released next week. macOS releases always trail iOS releases by 2 weeks or more.

I genuinely wonder how often people will be using Siri on their Mac. I have had the beta since the beginning and I would NEVER use it at work, and, even at home, would just do a quick search. Hmmm.

10GbE is still borked. Sierra can do 1Gbit LAN transfers fine, but 10GbE over SMB still does not work. This has been an issue since 10.11.5.
Was hoping one of the Sierra betas would fix.

If there is to be a Mac event in October/November, then it would probably make sense for macOS Sierra to be held back until then too. I'm guessing iOS/WatchOS focus next week, maybe a TV update.

Remember, usually OS X/macOS is an October/November release. Does not always coincide with iOS releases.

I'm feeling good they'll release macOS and iOS simultaneously. I mean, weirder things have happened.

EDIT: I mean, there are plenty of things that only work between the latest OSs. I think it makes sense they come out at the same time.

Gave it a whirl at home a few times but that's about it. I feel the same way about using it on my phone, it just not really practical. Like you said, a quick search does the same thing basically. Even having siri do something for me on my phone doesn't work well. It's faster for me to just go through a set a reminder or send a message rather then have to repeat what I'm saying 10 times on the off chance Siri gets it right.

It's possible, but as recently as 10.10, the OS X release was in October. You just never know. I have a feeling you're right, we should find out soon!

With so many betas, if there is a major bug in GM by launch time, Craig better cut off all that hair.

Sheesh, lol, I just got around to updating last weeks release 2 days ago. I just updated today's release an hour ago so now I'm up-to-date again. Nice to see them pushing updates frequently and hopefully fixing many things.

So far, even since the first PB release Sierra has been exceptionally stable for me.

This random release schedule makes me wonder if the development teams are more open to breaking the mould this year.

In previous years it felt like software problems often weren't fixed purely because they HAD to release updates all at the same time and on a particular schedule, whereas now it's like they're releasing them whenever they're ready to be released.

I use Siri on the phone all the time. Works well for me.

This happened to be last week, I updated to beta 6 like 15 minutes before, then I saw the annoucement on Macrumors of beta 7. Couldn't Applike remove it instead of having me waste 2 GBs of bandwidth in the first place?

Anyway, I can't wait to get off El Capitan. Its giving nothing but problems lately where networks are concerned.

Is it possible to share only a single directory over iCloud instead of the entire documents folder? That could finally be an easy way to share files between macs and idevices.

Sharing the whole documents folder is just a marketing ploy to sell more iCloud storage.

Let see if Siri is finally able to find a symbolically linked Downloads folder. I suspect not... :(

But it would be great if one could ask Siri on the iPhone to do stuff on a Mac. This could be handy when not at one's computer. Useful if a VNC client isn't convenient.

Mission control finally lets you use only gestures to switch between apps, although they've changed the way it has worked since, forever. Used to be that you could do the gesture (for me it's four fingers up), hover the mouse over the app to switch to, and do four fingers up again.

Now I have to do four fingers up, hover the mouse over the app, and do four fingers down. This is totally backwards because 3 or 4 fingers down was always and still is App Expose, for when you only want to show the open windows for a single program.

I do hope they fix this for the GM but I'm not holding my breath.
