No it isn't. Public Beta 6 is build 15A278b.
Good job. You are the first one I've see who's got it right. I looked all over to find a list of Beta Build numbers but could not find any. Beta 6 Build 15A278b. It was driving me crazy to see the wrong build number on my Air. Wonder who messed this one up?

I wish there was a true maximize function. Fullscreen is nice for watching a movie, not great for work.
Depends on the use. When you're working in one application, it's great -- especially on a small screen like a Macbook Air. I use a LOT of applications full-screen, and then just swipe or command-tab between them.

Sometimes you need two or more applications open side by side, or need to use the Finder with an application a lot, and that's a time when you don't want full screen, but when you're focusing on one task, it's great.

OS X El Capitan offers split screen. So that issue has been addressed.
