Apple updates the phones IN the boxes.. It's covered by one of their patents.

They build the phones, then, they're packaged, but left turned on and connected to a service network inside the factory. At some point, the latest build is pushed to the phones. They install iOS, probably do some self-tests while they're at it, then power down.

So, your phone might be in a box for a while before it actually gets updated with the latest iOS -- and it also means that they can update the phones to whatever the latest iOS is with a very short window of time before they're shipped.

Whoa. This is true? Pretty awesome if so.

I wil bet that the Bluetooth indicator is not back but better, nicer Emoji’s. Auchhhh

Now, if you get a new phone, you can pop your sim into the new phone and not have to contact your carrier and get hit with an upgrade fee. With esim, do you have to contact them when you get a new phone If you don't have a physical sim, how else do you activate the new phone, do you just have some kind of code you put in your phone that would also work in the new one?

Enough with the Animoji’s and the like. Everyone I know does not have an interest in Animoji’s. They look at them maybe for giggles try a couple then never again use them.

Folks want stability, bug fixes, improvements in operation. Example, Do Not Disturb (DND) is excellent. During that time the iPhone receives a email or message the iPhone does not respond that is good. The problem, the iPhone will pass that information to the Apple Watch (AW) as a haptic tapping awakening folks wearing their AW to bed. For health reason many folks wear their AW 27/7 (of course except when charging). Apple fix that, it should be a priority over emoji and animoji.

Different departments. One thing does not take away from another.

27/7, what time zone are you from? Kidding, I agree with you 100%, I couldn't care less about what the bagel emoji looks like. What good is it if you can't send it to anyone?

I hate saying stuff like this but every 12.1 Beta has left my Max feeling snappier. Beta 5 feels really fast to me.

It's way too early to tell, but my LTE connection at work (not great coverage here) feels "better". My speeds are up and loading webpages feel faster. Beta 4 I was getting about 22Mbps at my desk, now I'm getting 38Mbps.

My modem firmware was updated to version 1.01.30

The build number jumped up a few steps only. This one is probably ready for prime time.
