hmm someone said they thought 12.1 would get released today or tomorrow in time for the XR release.

That doesn't look likely now.

Does it do anything to fix crappy cellular reception ?
I noticed today that in my car it showed full signal with Carplay but when i looked at my phone i only had two bars...Probably a bug, but are they fixing it or "fixing" it?

I am sitting on 12.0.1. I will note that in an area where with my iPhone 7 got reception (a trouble area even for the i7 - it would typically only connect at 3G), my XS did not connect. At first I was disappointed naturally. However, a few days to a week later and I am now getting reception at the trouble location with the XS (at 3G also). It is almost like the phone needed some time to calibrate itself.

I just have to wonder a bit if folks are throwing these betas on, immediately doing a speed test, and then concluding things "suck" ... where the phone may need time to calibrate.

Kind of like your windshield wipers ... it takes them a few swings before your windshield is clear and stays clear. Here's to hoping I don't get dragged over the coals for this analogy :)

I'm still not having any issues. Yes, I'm talking in fringe areas as well as in the city. Compared to my daughters iphone 7 and 8+ my reception on my Xs Max is exactly the same as those phones. Never had a dropped call. I've seen 4g once. Other than that it's LTE or nothing.

I don't think that you can fix bad hardware
I find it amusing how the masses always point to a hardware issue with every new release of an apple product and beyond. Yet as always a software update ultimately solves the issue. It has ended up actually being a hardware fault, almost never.

It’s naive to think a phone signal can’t be remedied with software. It does usually take a month or 2 to fix issues like these. Be patient.

Apple had 1000+ phones with bad hardware that they sold at launch I had 3 of them before I got one that works okay

Is the Public beta that was released today a “GM” release of 12.1 or still a beta?

Hey guys!

I have a massive issue with my Bluetooth in my Mercedes Benz A45 AMG dropping out. I’ve been on countless calls with Apple, the engineers are investigating this with a 2.7GB log file. It has been happening very often on iPhone XS Max. 12 & 12.0.1 still have this issue. I am hoping that 12.1 will fix this issue.

I’ve also explained that I am getting complete call drop outs and Apple have acknowledged this and said they are working on a fix for this part.

So frustrating having a brand new phone and relatively new car. Interestingly, the Bluetooth dropouts don’t occur on my new Apple Watch or on the Airpods.

When they said they are working on a fix, did they mention it was a "software" fix, or a "hardware fix for the 2019 iPhone?
Sorry to be so pessimistic, but I am torn between all these issues being software related or hardware.

I'm having the same or a similar problem with my car. Connecting the XS with the official Apple licensed BMW Lightning adapter drops the music after some minutes if Bluetooth is enabled. If I disable Bluetooth the lightning connection stays stable. I didn’t experience the problems on my iPhone X on iOS 12. Seems to be a problem with the drivers/firmware of the new XS. Apple, please fix this asap!

They are still investigating it. After each drop out I have to hold down power + volume up + volume down until it vibrates which will trigger a log for them to cross check what is occurring at that time.
[doublepost=1540281314][/doublepost]Feel free to PM me your case number and I will have them look into this for you at the same time.

I have also noticed no drop out when the cable is connected for CarPlay. However this temporary Bluetooth dropout has happened on my iPhone X too since iOS 11.4.

My X is unable to make reliable calls using Wi-Fi calling on AT&T. Carrier settings are v34. Reported to Apple via feedback app.

NOPE!
Had them all except the first one.
You'd think they would have figured it out by now.
Your response makes it clear that you don’t develop software but that’s okay neither do I. However something I’ve learned is that since software is always changing/being updated, there’s a chance of error or lack of optimization. Add in new hardware and the software has to be optimized further. It’s not as simple as copying and pasting old code to work with new equipment. Then add in new features and some times code clashes or is inefficient and that throws error codes, hence when you have issues.

I know people love to say, “it’s 2018, this should just work by now”. But it’s not magic. It’s thousands of people completing millions of separate operations so that one thing can work. It’s not perfect and never will be. There will always be updates so there will always be issues. (Double edged sword) I believe expectations are people’s worst enemy right now in society.

Enough with the Animoji’s and the like. Everyone I know does not have an interest in Animoji’s. They look at them maybe for giggles try a couple then never again use them.

Folks want stability, bug fixes, improvements in operation. Example, Do Not Disturb (DND) is excellent. During that time the iPhone receives a email or message the iPhone does not respond that is good. The problem, the iPhone will pass that information to the Apple Watch (AW) as a haptic tapping awakening folks wearing their AW to bed. For health reason many folks wear their AW 27/7 (of course except when charging). Apple fix that, it should be a priority over emoji and animoji.
Is your Apple Watch actually setup to mirror the DND settings from your iPhone? And if you're in Beta....?

No investigation opened from the car manufacturer side? Like no firmware update pushed to the radio that was timed after the public release of iOS 12.

I’ve already had the Bluetooth firmware in the car upgraded and then the entire command radio system replaced too.
