Who says it’s not available at launch? That it is not included in this and the previous betas doesn’t mean it won’t make it to final… It’s not the first time it takes some betas before a feature is available. They may add it to the next beta.Apparently UC is still not available. It's beyond me how the only new feature won't be available at launch... they put all their efforts into destroying Safari and that's it.
That didnt come up but the terminal update seems to be doing something. ThanksBefore it installs after it’s downloaded/prepared you should see a dialog pop up asking for admin password. Beta 4 did this also on M1 based Macs.
Afterward you should see this

Installed fine on M1 24" iMac here PST.Are we sure the public beta was released? Not showing up on any of my Macs.
and you are on the public beta? I just tried from terminal, and it's a no go, also.Installed fine on 24" iMac here PST.
Try deleting beta profile and get a new one from https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/ if it doesn't show.and you are on the public beta? I just tried from terminal, and it's a no go, also.
I realize that is a alternative work around but why are you guys using terminal, it shouldn't require that. Also check in software update that box is checked for Automatically keep my Mac up to date. Seems that last security change unchecked it.No Public Beta software update through Terminal in Texas either.
If it reads that, then that’s the developer beta channel, not public. Public beta would read “Apple Beta Software Program.”Try deleting beta profile and get a new one from https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/ if it doesn't show.
Should be saying yours is enrolled in Apple Developer seed program.
Agreed.. Doesn't appear the public beta has been released. Perhaps someone jumped the gun. Probably tomorrow as the seem to release the public beta a day after the developer beta dropsAre we sure the public beta was released? Not showing up on any of my Macs.
Hmmm well B4 came out for the Intels first, then appeared for M1 later, wonder if same happening with B5Same here. No public beta showing M1 MacBook Air.
You may be right by saying that he should ignore bad articles but he also got a point, personally, I subscribed to a couple of channels on youtube to catch up with the Marvel staff but there is this guy putting videos almost every 2 days, all he does he talking about hypothesizes every time so much that I now ignore his videos even if he might be something legit and man that guy talks too much, still subscribed though and probably will unsubscribe when I see that unsubscribe button. So Apple should purposefully worsen their beta testing practices by having less people test their new releases, just because tech "journalists" are lazy and you are unable to ignore bad articles? Hard pass on you bad idea.
Agreed. For me its via invite for being part of the Dev seed programs that I had involvement with. But that is a good explanation why I got it today. Guess didn't see the change of status until I looked there. Anyway no heartburn with beta 5 installation. Also I had to wait for beta 4 the same as PB testers so go figure. If it reads that, then that’s the developer beta channel, not public. Public beta would read “Apple Beta Software Program.”
Thing is, these people will put out the articles no matter what, as it's all about the clicks, the ads, the earnings.
To conclude we should learn how to filter which content we consume and the content creators should also stop making crappy articles & videos just for the views, visits, or whatever.
had to use that for the last 2 betasThat didnt come up but the terminal update seems to be doing something. Thanks
sudo softwareupdate -i -a -R
