Does networking work on this release? I know Beta 4 had a lot of issues being connected via wifi but not actually routing to the internet.

I’m having this issue for the first time ever with Beta 5. I simply can’t connect to WiFi. Was there a fix for the previous betas?

edit: nm, fixed it.

I hope this fixes Ventura notifying me every 5 seconds to input my gmail password, even though it already is.

I wonder if the delayed messages notification is fixed? I guess I’ll find out in a few mins
That's been my holdout for installing it. I installed DB3 thinking it was fixed but nothing then. Any word on if they finally got it working in 5?

The current CCC (6.1.3-b3) backup process, has a new issue with the way APFS utility is working in beta 5.

You'll see the scripted volume APFS replication conclude prematurely not backing up data volume for legacy bootable volume copy.

Temp work around is just run a standard backup instead.

Using a M1 Max MBP.

This round I'm pretty excited for Ventura.
Before I just got each new operative system because I liked staying in the loop, however this time there are some compelling features I actually intend to make use of.
This time I might even install the 13.0 version without waiting for the .1
what compelling features?

I’m waiting for 13.2 or 13.3 before updating. My M1 max came with 12.0.1 and there were bad bugs until 12.4. My m1 max had hard kernel crashes if it was connected to a thunderbolt 4 dock and went to sleep/woke up. Another bug is that the mac wakes from sleep every hour. Also, up until 12.4, the mac and iPad Pro m1 couldn’t connect via a thunderbolt cable… the connection would disconnect/reconnect ad-infinitum so I had to use a non thunderbolt cable.

12.4 resolved the bugs and 12.5 is better. As stage manager hardly seems like a desirable feature to use, I’m staying far away from Ventura until at least 13.2.
Yep! I've officially switched to a tail end upgrader. I still get new OS across the board, just gotta wait till spring or later the following year. I see zero rush with their last few years of woes.

Unless of course they're waiting for Ventura to fix the bluetooth pairing lag, in which case I may delve in sooner. What's the point of a 10 second boot up if the Mac keyboard takes another 9 seconds to connect.

- Stage Manager still can't handle "zoomed" apps.
- Applescript still fails to read calendar alerts or know if any are set.
- Calendar widget removes events once they're 15 minutes past the start time, regardless of duration if longer.
- British keyboard shows in the menubar as 🄰

All of the above have existed since the first beta.

I’m hoping they release a public beta soon. Last public beta rendered my iMac 2017 (4K) totally unusable. Desktop wallpaper started showing blank. Screen started flickering from actual screen to blank. Safari isn’t able to open most web pages. Keeps crashing, flickering. Have not been able to use my Mac since last public beta. Multiple restarts haven’t helped either 😟

If you still got on beta 5 CPU hog "powerd" process use terminal to reset it:
sudo pmset schedule cancelall
