I don't understand why we can't adjust the settings app window width. Height can be adjusted but not width. Reported in feedback app. Settings should be adaptive at this point just like in WIndows 11. But apart from this rest is quite stable. A slight hiccup in stage manager though. Hope it has been fixed in beta 5.

That would be pointless like it is on Windows.

You just end up with lots of empty spaces around all the options.

Empty pointless space is bad UI design.

But it still does have empty space in some instances.

Just noticed this in Mail settings. Yes!! I'll probably be turning this off, unless I can turn it off for individual messages. So far, it hasn't flagged one so I don't know if that's possible. It wasn't in b4 and below.

But with 5K or 6K screen the settings app looks tiny. It has to be flexible enough to handle scaling. Apart from that, almost all apps are now responsive and why leave the settings app?

Tiny?

Text size looks roughly the same across all retina displays using the default scale setting.

Resizing the window of the Settings app horizontally won’t change the text size.

I can’t even imagine why you think resizing a window changes text and UI elements size.

All it does is increase empty space.

I'm finding problems with some third-party apps that need Security access. In this newest beta, my Kensington, Bartender, Default Folder and other apps are no longer listed in "Input Monitoring," "Full Disk Access," et al., under "Accessibility." In fact, no apps are listed there, and none can be added. A restart solves it sometimes, but it can return with another restart.

I’m hoping they release a public beta soon. Last public beta rendered my iMac 2017 (4K) totally unusable. Desktop wallpaper started showing blank. Screen started flickering from actual screen to blank. Safari isn’t able to open most web pages. Keeps crashing, flickering. Have not been able to use my Mac since last public beta. Multiple restarts haven’t helped either 😟
Sorry to hear that. I believe the Public Beta will come today, but it can't be certain. I noticed that the 2017 iMac is the "oldest" iMac that accepts Ventura. I hope that doesn't turn out to be a bad User experience.

Thanks for your concern. I must add that public beta-one actually worked almost flawlessly for me. I’m having a little bad experience with beta 2s - both for iMac 2017 & iPhone 13. Hoping things will settle for better with next beta 🙂

There's a funky bug (feature?) in the Public Beta where if you set Mission Control to have "Displays have separate Spaces" off, you can no longer cycle through windows using either the menu or keyboard shortcut. This didn't happen prior to Ventura.

i.e. when "Displays have separate spaces" is off, go to either the Finder or any application with multiple windows.
Try to cycle through the multiple windows using cmd-backtick. Nothing happens.
In Finder, go to Window and select Cycle through windows. Nothing happens.

Why do I have "Displays have separate spaces" off? Because when my Macbook is on an external monitor, I don't want another menu bar on *both* the monitor and the macbook.

Turning on "Displays have separate Spaces" re-enables the window cycling.

Can anyone confirm whether or not that's fixed yet?

No Spotlight in status bar or when pressing Com+Space. Finder doesn't work.
Any solution?

The current CCC (6.1.3-b3) backup process, has a new issue with the way APFS utility is working in beta 5.

You'll see the scripted volume APFS replication conclude prematurely not backing up data volume for legacy bootable volume copy.

Temp work around is just run a standard backup instead.

Using a M1 Max MBP.
The Data Volume failure observed above in legacy bootable copy was caused by either of two processes that go into a high CPU state at times under beta 5. Spotlight seems to prevent the data volume from unmounting with its process goes high %CPU, that or the new mail running powerd with high %CPU. So after a few days of using your system it now works OK using CCC provided you check activity monitor first.
