As I already mentioned, I tried the "update", didn't work. Keeps me at 9.1 The only choice, at least for me, is to remain there with the data backup, or downgrade to 9.0.2 thru DFU restore but lose all data.Well. This is a non developer successfully downgraded to iOS 9.0.2 and kept it for less than 48 hours without losing data and restoring from backup.
I do use iTunes to restore to previous official release.
The real trick is: you need to "update" to iOS 9.0.2 rather than restoring, which does lose all of your data in progress.
If you are using iCloud backup you cannot go to a older iOS with a newer iOS backup. If you use iTunes, there is a trick that will allow it usually. ou edit the version line in the info.plist file. Only within major versions I would think would be suitable. So an iOS9 backup to iOS8 for example may not work out so well. Has worked fine in the past but of course things can change with Apple.
I believe that option appeared one or two betas ago.Does this allow me the option to remove the stupid icons on the left side of messages?
Ok. The "update" trick is you need to shift/option (for PC/Mac respectively) click "update" and choose firmware, and then update, without losing your data. I have done this many times and none of them fail. Currently the only exception is you still need to put to DFU when attempting to downgrade to previous major version. As I already mentioned, I tried the "update", didn't work. Yet Siri still cannot support mixture of multiple language when using it.Is this new? If I had a Bluetooth headset in my ear prior to this beta, and I said e.g., "Hey Siri, Call Vanessa" to my new iPhone 6s Plus (NOT via the headset, but to the phone itself), the iPhone 6s Plus would say, "Calling Vanessa on speaker" and I'd have to manually switch to the Bluetooth headset.
With 9.1 BETA 5, it now calls on Bluetooth if the headset is in my ear/on, and it just says, "Calling Vanessa."
A positive change, since it drove me a little crazy having to switch to the headset after using this feature.
iOS 9.0.2 is being signed. What are you wanting to downgrade to? There is another option. "update" back to 9.0.2. Basically download the IPSW file then shift/update and browse to the file. If mac its the other (maybe Option/update) key." fresh backup on my computer using itunes" - not using icloud backup. The .plist file editing may work. However if itunes will accept only signed files, then again, we're screwed. Also, it cannot be done it the backup is encrypted, which in my case, it is. (Yes I could theoretically un-encrypt it, etc. but its all a unnecessary hassle)
My point is the problem is not a technological one. IMHO, it may be something Apple has just overlooked, since the public beta thing is anyways just a few months old. Its possible that by next year, they incorporate an official downgrade and restore solution within itunes, regardless from what version the backup was made. (atleast within a common major version like 9.1 beta to 9.0 release)
I think you would better hold off rather than rushing to it.should i update my 6s to 9.1 or just wait for public release?

So, you don't need to prepare for backup.I'm not talking about the OS being signed. Its about when you edit a .plist file yourself in the backup and try to restore it. That doesn't work if itunes checks for signatures and matches that .plist file with some signature.
I'm wanting to downgrade my public ios 9.1 beta 5 for public release 9.0.2 and yet retain my data using a current backup taken while on beta. AFAIK, this isn't possible since, itunes refuses to restore the backup onto the "older" ios 9.0.2 which will be loaded on the phone once you restore it as new. does that make it clear?
Yes I am clear on what you want and thought I was pretty clear on how to do it. Sorry if not. So download the 9.0.2 ipsw file and option 1: shift/update and browse to the file u downloaded and let it do its thing. OR option 2: put the device in recovery mode and let iTunes restore it to 9.0.2 then edit info.plist in your backup folder and edit the section shown below then restore your backup. This has worked in the past. Several have been successful simply doing the "upgrade" method (option 1) to go back to 8.4.1 while it was still being signed. That requires no restoring of a backup.I'm not talking about the OS being signed. Its about when you edit a .plist file yourself in the backup and try to restore it. Hopefully this will fix the POP3 mail issue.
Issue is emails in Mail app on iPad/iPhone show no content :"this message has not been downloaded from the server" (when the email content was previously visible) when using POP3 mail account after email has been downloaded to another device (ie: computer running Outlook that downloads message and deletes from server).
Sounds like there might be something there: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...h-pop-email-accounts-and-attachments.1927198/...sadly not. Emails were readable on my phone, up until I just fired up Outlook and downloaded them off the server to the computer. Now, in the Mail app on phone, I'm getting "...message not downloaded..." for the very same emails I could read literally minutes before.
