The only thing I’m finding as an inconvenience is that, I go to watch a programme I’ve purchased through iTunes and it asks me if I’d like to watch it through iTunes or Netflix... I don’t have Netflix or the app installed, and I already have it purchased through iTunes, why ask if I’d like to watch it on netflix? I don’t see a way to disable this either.

The beta program is starting to become a joke with Apple. That long of testing on 11.4, and now bugs and a 11.4.1 beta? What is the point of opening the beta to the public (like they did a few years ago)...... just too funny

We will never have a bug free version of iOS, as a developer I know it's impossible to make something just perfect.
I agree 11 has been a buggy version of iOS, some of the features promised last WWDC were released yesterday after almost a year. Apple ought to focus on quality, they can't be perfect but they need to reduce slowness and bugs to make the user experience better.
Remember iOS 12 will be out in September, so they still need to work on 11 to correct bugs since we're 3 months away from the new version. I didn't expect a new beta so soon, but they'll release at least a new version before 12.

Requisite warning: for the first 30 days or so of a new major version dev-only beta, you are advised to have your UDID listed in someone's developer account or the device may refuse to boot with the dev-only beta.

It happened to me on 11.0. Was a painful process of downgrading then re-upgrading. Had forgotten that the device was new and not listed in my dev account.

There have been mixed reports about whether this is always enforced. All I know is that after I put in the UDID in the account I had no problems. It theoretically could have been a coincidence but I tried every other reset/recovery mode trick in the book and nothing worked.

Apple hasn’t required a UDID to install a developer beta since iOS 8...?

Every iOS 9 beta was installable via IPSW without a registered UDID. Now it’s even easier with the Provisioning Profile.

The point of the beta is so they can crowdsource the people to find bugs and report them. If you think it's a joke, start reporting the bugs you find to shorten the beta testing period.

I have issues with my contacts in the new iOS update. Pictures of contacts keep reverting to a different position and switching the number info from mobile to iPhone keeps reverting it back to mobile again. Is anyone else having the same issue? Started right after 11.4 was installed. So annoying

I get this from time-to-time as well, especially if I'm actively using Contacts on my Mac. Have you reported this? I've seen this before 11.4 though.

I noticed today that my iPad in presentation mode—using Apple Keynote—with Do Not Disturb turned on was still showing messagings and calendar notifications.

I was presenting on my ipad when this happened, and thankfully nothing personal or NSFW’ish came up or it could have cost me my job.

I work in tech, so I understand there are always bugs. But I’m getting sick and tired of Apple’s shoddy software quality.

Enough is enough. How far behind does Apple have to fall with software, how bad does quality have to get, and how late do features have to be, before Tim does something?

Have you reported this bug to Apple? They can't fix what they don't know - and it's unknown how many or how often people use iPad for presentations.

I’m pretty sure that do not disturb and do not disturb while driving only apply when the device is locked - or that’s certainly my experience. If the phone is unlocked it seems it is deemed that you are actively using it and therefore will want to see notification alerts even with dnd enabled.

This is especially irritating when driving with a navigation app as the phone has to be unlocked in that scenario so notifications alerts still show and some - calendar ones especially- don’t always auto clear and need to be swiped up manually to get rid of them.

It's a setting. Settings -> Do Not Disturb -> Silence. You can choose "Always" or "Only while iPhone is locked"

EDIT : Just seen this has already been highlighted.

When 11.4 was mainly a bug fix, that was in beta for 60 days with tens of thousands of people beta testing it, and yet they still have enough bugs to put out a .1 beta not even 24 hours after 11.4 was released, 11.x iOS is nearly end of life.....yes, I find that humorous.

You don't know how the hell dev works, so you should laugh at yourself first.

Hey Guys why does Apple isn’t listening to their customers I’ve been reporting major bugs such as weather widget been broken since the beginning of iOS 11 first beta. Also the manual time settings been broken. They are about to close 11.4 final versions and they aren’t listening.

Do you meant that it does not always update if you don't use location services? If so, I also reported that and they don't seem to want to reply or fix it.

Not even for the Preview betas? I didn't need it for installing the beta, profile was enough. You're probably right, but when I had the issue there was more than one report out there of similar behavior on iOS 10 or 11 Previews.

Then go to android if you don’t like it and really see bugs and crappy software..

When does the public beta of a big update like 11 - 12 usually come out following a dev release? Days, weeks, months?!..
