Apple Seeds First Beta of iOS 9.3 to Developers

This is the first real, actual major update for iOS 9 so hopefully it's actually optimized and polished. 8.3 was the same way and it turned out good.

Isn't that what we want? People complain about bugs yet you complain when there's an update focused on bug fixes.

Yeah... so far, it's a Dev only release... Public Beta could come as soon as tomorrow... or, next week.

Wow, exciting update!! If we could get Touch ID for Notes and Messages, that'd be spot on!

We got it for notes. I would love it if we had this feature for photos. Messages too.

Working for me in the UK.

The only country-specific notes on the iOS Preview state that News is still UK, US and Australia only, and that the Health dashboard may not be available in all regions.

I wonder if they mean it they mean 'while it's beta' or "it will come in iOS 10 or iOS 9.4 for the rest of the world".

I can see why the beta would only work in the US. Beta's are for testing, to see whether it actually peforms like it should includes testing how the device detects sunset. You have to test in the location where you are physically, which is the USA.

Night Shift - iOS 9.3 includes a feature that reduces blue light at night, much like f.lux does on a Mac.

Yeeesssss....! That probably also mean we'll get it on the Mac in the next OSX release.. Best feature in a LONG time! So funny being excited for an update again, instead having to shiver in fear over what loads of bugs they are now introducing!

Releases in 'Spring' according to the Apple site. Probably going to see it around the time of an Apple event and the potential release of the new iPhone 6c or whatever you want to call it.

It's not something like Apple Music though. It's just a basic app that uses geolocation. There's no extensive services that need to be done.

Touch ID for opening Apps should be a system wide setting that lets you enable it for any app you want instead of being an app-side feature

This is just beta 1 of 9.3, by the time they release it, they may make Touch ID a system-wide app setting. Makes good sense for Messages, Photos, Notes, etc.

Give me something in settings where I can turn on Touch ID for any first party app. I would totally use it with iMessage and Photos.
