Yeah after 12 hours…

Stage Manager crashes, sometimes doesn’t load. Need to log in and out to get it to work.

It’s not good that it is floating above the Desktop and looks like the Windows Vista multitasker. It blurs the Desktop and makes the files you have on your desk disappear.

It’s ugly. It should be in the Right side of the Dock instead of floating above the Desktop.

Please don’t make any part of macOS look like Vista even the slightest bit.

Welllllll.... drat. Beware folks. Upgraded all my stuff to the latest betas. iPhone, iPad, Watch, MBP all worked fine, but my main machine a BTO last-of-the-line intel imac is bricked. Update ran fine, but went into endless reboot cycle. Cleared PRAM. Won't start, won't go into safe mode, won't go into recovery mode. Is target disk mode a thing still? so I could at least get my files off?

Big sur beta was decent for me, Monterey was flawless, and this is the first one in recent history that fell flat on its face. Spare 2018 macbookpro, seemed to upgrade fine, got to login screen and on login wheel freezes and goes to black. Recovery mode and diskutil shows inode errors that repair, but reappear after each attempt to reboot and login. In target disk mode now pulling my files before doing a full wipe.

Before you ever update to a new beta cycle you must backup your boot volumes to an external backup volume.

You can always use DFU (via another USB-C connected Mac) to repair the system OS/system FW to last public release or public beta. Then use the backup as a ASR with Migration Assistant to restore system settings, applications, and data. Apple Store personal can do this with an appointment.

Unfortunately, Revive didn't work (eventually goes into internet recovery then endless reboot cycle) and Target disk mode shows my bootcamp partition, but the Mac one is missing. Looks like a harsh lesson on this one. I do have a back up, but from a while back. Maybe in a couple updates the OS will recover. Ugg.. At least Amazon doesn't lose my photos and google doesn't lose my emails. I've been a mac guy since I could first afford one (a refurb 8500AV) but the've never been reliable - and the backup solutions least reliable of all. Ironic that windows on mac has been a lot more stable than mac on mac. I've never lost data on bootcamp!
