Apple Seeds First Beta of macOS High Sierra 10.13.5 to Developers [Updated]

Apple today seeded the first beta of an upcoming macOS High Sierra 10.13.5 update to developers, just under one week after releasing the macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 update.

The new macOS High Sierra 10.13.5 beta can be downloaded through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store with the proper profile installed.

It's not yet clear what improvements the fifth major update to macOS High Sierra will bring, but it's likely to include bug fixes and performance improvements for issues that weren't addressed in macOS High Sierra 10.13.4.

We are waiting on several features to come to macOS and iOS, including Messages on iCloud, a feature that was in the iOS 11.3 beta but later pulled. Messages on iCloud has been reintroduced in the iOS 11.4 beta and is likely in macOS High Sierra 10.13.5 as well.

The previous macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 update brought support for external graphics processors (eGPUs) along with Business Chat in Messages and several other bug fixes and smaller feature improvements.

We'll update this post should any new features be discovered in macOS High Sierra 10.13.5.

Update: The macOS High Sierra 10.13.5 beta is now listed in the Apple Developer Center.

It was primarily because something more interesting and discussion worthy had recently been posted to the front page (Apple hiring Google's AI guy). I do often share the Mac updates on the front page, but they get considerably less interest than iOS updates because it's not often as easy to spot changes. Appreciate the feedback!

Do you have numbers (that you can share) about how many people click on the articles for iOS updates versus macOS updates? I'm a bit curious as to the ratio there (and if you can't share actual numbers, is it roughly the same ratio as the amount of comments per different type of article?)

This is why I prefer the mobile version of Macrumors - no side column.

Not to say the side column isn't useful, but as mentioned above, I prefer the mobile version of the site simply because I don't need to bounce back and forth between the main stories and the "other" stories. Some of the "less interesting" stories, I often find more useful and vice versa. Just my .02.

Not all will be fixed, will probably be fixed on macOS 10.14 whatever ****** name they give.
By then new bugs will crop up, and we’re back to square one. You will never get to upgrade.
