Naw, it was announced with Sierra, but only released on iOS 10.
It was included in Sierra, but it wasn't default. AFAIK you could create an APFS partition but couldn't really do anything with it.

Technically, I guess you are correct, but it was not until 10.12.4, and even then you had to format it from command line and then you still couldn't do anything with it. So it may be have been in there, but it was not really available to the everyday user.

Just installed. I eagerly await drivers from nvidia as the third party drivers used in 10.12 were night and day faster then the apple drivers

apfs is pretty broken right now. Copying and pasting a lot of files just sits there doing nothing for a while as does deleting (btw new colors to the beach ball.. that's progress!)

duplicating a hand full of large files does happen faster similar to the demo, but it doesn't seem to hold up with a lot of folders and files.. (try copying /Applications)

Its beta1, so lets keep expectations real, but not much here for end users yet.

Apple Watch unlock works much better for me on this beta than on any version of Sierra!

Wasn't APFS released with macOS Sierra? Now I'm really confused =/
APFS was included in sierra but technically speaking it was in beta state,
while you could create a hard drive partition and formatted using APFS in Sierra
but you can't create a bootable volume with APFS, install sierra and boot from it
while many people use commands at that time in sierra
i used Tuxera NTFS disk manager to access the hidden option and was able to create an APFS partition
at that time APFS was a bit faster than the old apple FS
but now is even faster than before because is no longer in beta state like it was back then in sierra
yes high sierra os is in beta but APFS is not in beta

now in high sierra you will be able to create a partition and format the drive in APFS and boot from it
so now is bootable
sorry for my bad english

i have 3 samsung 960 in raid0 hitting over 8,000 mbps or 8 gbps
and i need to order 1 more Samsung drive to have 4

i want 10,000 with APFS but most likely i will hit a little over 11,000
so just imagine how fast is going to be
even faster than my iram disk

Just a quick thought. Has anyone tried Time machine backups to a WD Mycloud server, and does it work, or do I need to be looking at a new backup solution?

Thanks in advance.
