Apple today seeded the first beta of an upcoming macOS Monterey 12.3 update to developers for testing purposes, with the new software coming just a day after the release of macOS Monterey 12.2.

Registered developers can download the beta through the Apple Developer Center and after the appropriate profile is installed, betas will be available through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences.

In the release notes for the update, Apple confirms that it has deprecated kernel extensions used by Dropbox and Microsoft OneDrive and notes that both cloud storage services have replacements for the functionality currently in beta. The update also adds new emojis and support for Universal Control.

Universal Control is designed to allow a single mouse and trackpad to be used with multiple Macs and iPads, and Apple has said it will be launching this spring.

Apple clearly is primarily focused on software features that builds value in their ecosystem, connecting devices to encourage customers to own more devices.
I wish they would innovate their installed apps more.

Still no Universal Control? Starting to think it's going to get AirPower-ed
Apple clearly is focused on software features that builds value in their ecosystem, neglecting quality and innovation on-device. So it’s pretty sad we can’t even get the tent pole ecosystem feature of Monterey. But boy, we sure got the bugs.
you were saying?

Safari Version 15.4 (17613.1.14.1.7) (120hz)
System Firmware Version: 7459.100.487.115.1. (M1 based Macs)
Universal Control is back in displays.

Looks like lot more changes than the release notes.

im hoping apple and adobe fix the acrobat crash issue with this...its becoming really annoying and its hard to work with it crashing all the time.

is it just me? New version hangs when loading a new webpage. It's the same on my Mac mini, MacBook Air Intel and M1 all running the latest macOS 12.2. I did not have this issue before the update.

Standard Safari has no issues. I've reinstalled Safari Tech Preview with no success on the issue.

Anyone here has this problem?

I just quit and restarted Safari on a M1 iMac and its working normally. I will have a M1 Max MBP in a few mins to compare. I also never have used Safari Tech Preview additionally on any Macs running beta as Tech Preview is not paired with the beta releases compared to a publicly release OS. (Just a thought)

Yes, same for me. This seems to be the case as several others also reported the same in the Safari Technology Preview thread.

unfortunately restarting the Mac did not help. I use STP for personal and regular Safari for work stuff. :)

I have Safari 15.4 from beta on the M1 Max and its not showing 120 hz unless there is a hidden setting for this in the developer menu. Sounds like you could always carefully uninstall STP or wait for a newer version or use Firefox 96.0.2 for time being. :)

Sounds like it would be wise to uninstall STP before upgrading to MacOS 12.3 beta.

I just had some weirdness. A couple of pages where pure white, no content at all. And then all my pinned tabs disappeared. Restarting, repinning, and TBD.
