I returned my new mbp 16" today. I figured if I was going to have to wait several more months for a Catalina update and graphics driver that are actually production quality, I might as well just return it and wait for the next hardware update. Perhaps by then, Apple may actually get their OS sh*t together. And it sure seems to me, lately, that iCloud services a bit unstable at times. I'm thinking the complex iCloud services interactions are starting to be an issue (inter-service dependencies and latency).

macOS features marked for spring release:

Communication Limits
Communication Limits let you control who your children can communicate with and who can communicate with them throughout the day and during downtime.

iCloud Drive folder sharing
You can now share folders with a private link. Anyone who has access can see the folder in iCloud Drive, add new files, and get the latest versions of files.

Neither seem to be on this build.
Spring could mean anywhere between March 21st and June 20th

You hope.
Internally Apple will be targeting their late March release.

If they miss that, it is likely because they could not reduce the developer/application impact enough of the local iCloud daemon rewrite, and push it to the release in September.

It will be pretty apparent they missed it if the functionality isn’t in the first beta of 11.4

Does it include a fix for Apple's Mail Data Loss problem  Apple, this is very bad and needs an emergency fix!

The state of mail is offensive, I fail to see how the deem it acceptable to screw up something so fundamentally required on ANY computer...

The photo and music syncing from Finder is CRAZYTOWN. It basically doesn't even work at this point. Photos on iOS is totally unusable now. There's the album bug mentioned above (I assume he meant nested albums, because that's still broken), random duplications, missing Photos. Music syncing is busted too. Album art is missing. Tracks aren't syncing. I'm seriously about to roll back to High Sierra if they're just going to break features that have worked since 2005 until now. Also, has anyone noticed that if you crop a screenshot on iOS, the cropped version only persists 20% of the time? This is literally the WORST iOS/macOS release I have ever seen.

I'm still on High Sierra and have issues with iOS photo syncing as well. I usually use the Image Capture application to transfer everything, but half of my photos are not showing up. I need to select them one by one to make them visible for download, and it is a hit-or-miss process. Very poor process.

After the last Mojave update everytime Apple asks me to log in I get an error message and it logs me in anyway. Very annoying

Does this solve the issue where network drives sometimes won’t re-mount unless you Kill and restart finder (which started in 10.15)?

I bought my first Mac, a MacBook Pro 15" top model in stock configuration when it was launched in 2011. Mistake - in mid 2012, retina screens came out.

I did not learn.

I bought a 13" MBP with Touch Bar when it was launched in 2016. Bigger mistake, had to have a keyboard replacement and while there were several good things about it, it was graphically underpowered and software updates and OS upgrades for two years could not help it against my High Sierra-clad MBP 15" 2011. I had to sell it off.

I am now on a MacBook Air 2017 that I feel fares very well for the price I paid for it.

Lesson has been learnt, do not buy Mac hardware when it is launched, wait for some iterations.

That said, I would have thought that the 16" MBP was going to be a much-loved notebook for all. Guess they still need to fine-tune stuff for people like you with very specific requirements.

Their iOS hardware (and arguably, software) seems to fare so much better in terms of launch-day performance and satisfaction.

If you're running the beta, can you confirm if this bug is still present?

I use outlook for email but use the Apple mail app instead of the web or the outlook app. Often times if I delete an email in my inbox on my iPhone, my MBP will make a ding noise (as if I have a new email) after the email has been moved to the trash. I believe that sometimes I hear the same ding noise if I delete the email directly from my MBP.

Does anybody know the version number for the trustedpeershelper process? I’m having issues with it (rebuilt it already) so I’m hoping they have worked on a fix in .3

is anyone else missing the Mac OS MAIL "SEND LATER" feature/icon? I can't seem to find it anywhere within Catalina (any release/beta)
