Oh man, your mention of FCP7 made me fire up my copy for the first time in over a year (I have it installed on my 2011 iMac - which I recently upgraded to Sierra). Seems to still work fine, but I haven't tested the log and capture. I've always used the log and transfer since all my cameras use SD cards.

By the way, this kind of begs the question: Why on earth can FCP7 still mostly run just fine on Sierra, when so many programs that worked on Yosemite are now failing? Whats up with that?

Exact same iMac here - mine works fine with Siri... Do you have any other mic's attached, or mic plug-ins installed ?
Nope. I went into System Preferences > Siri and set it to use the internal microphone (which is also set as the default input for my system). Other apps have no trouble accessing the mic, but Siri doesn't seem to know it exists.

Siri blows, and probably always will. Lets just clear the air of all the nonsense and get that out of the way. It's a gimmick, and likely always will be.

Hopefully Apple will fix Safari so that a user like myself can again set the exact font size they want. Safari 10.0 is useless to me now because this feature was removed. SMH
TinkerTool (the free version) lets you set a specific size for Safari, try it!

MAC OS 10.12 SIERRA!!

do you hate the usefulness of karabiner, FCP7 log and capture, and LibreOffice?

do you want apple to automagically sync your desktop and document folders across all your devices using some logic and process you can't pause, stop or otherwise control?

would you like to talk to your computer and have it respond with the same crippling lack of usefulness as your phone?

are you stymied by the fact that when you copy some bit of useless text on your phone and then wait upwards of 30 seconds, that same text isn't automagically propagated to the clipboard of your laptop?

are you hard at the thought of a built in utility half as capable of dozens of crapware "spring cleaning" type apps that do advanced things such as empty your trash for you on a predetermined schedule?

would you like to see the finder crash with a cool new dialog box that actually asks you if you want it to crash or to keep messing up without crashing?

do you love the bugs that make disk utility a piece of crap where it was formerly just fine? would you like mail.app to start crashing again?

are you nostalgic for the bug that made Ghostery bork the combined Safari search/url box in the early days of 10.11?

THEN UPGRADE NOW!

I wish I could like this a couple hundred more times

FCP 7.0.3, which is the last decent NLE Apple will ever release, is not "mostly fine." Initiating log and capture crashes the application without fail. How high a priority do you think it is for Apple to fix this bug? Btw I have hundreds of hours of work to do in Aperture - has anybody tested that one?

I just want to put out a very real "thank you" to all of you early adopters.

Keep the bug reports coming, guys.

Makes it easy for me to resist the "upgrade NOW" urge.

Any one with access found any new hardware code?
We need some new about ALL the mac's! Well maybe not rMB

I suspect that there is a push now to support new hardware. Of course bugs are always a possibility, most of the bugs I see though are in ITunes.

I hope they do something about the whitened out Notifications center, made to match the (asinine IMHO) rounded card design (by committee) of iOS 10. It sticks out like a sore thumb when you have dark mode enabled. Apple, either offer a proper dark mode or don't bother at all. I've reported this inconsistency both on the beta platform and on Apple's feedback site. It's beyond me why they keep breaking the UX with such moronic iterations.

If log and capture is the only thing that doesn't work in FCP7, which from what I can tell, it is correct, that's not TOO bad ... unless of course that's the one thing you need it for. :)

At least they waited a day.

A few versions ago (can't remember which) they released the next point release beta on the SAME day as public release of the previous one.

That was too fast, and so I waited a day before installing that one.

There is a section in Photos for Depth Effect photos
Mind posting the version of Photos that's included with this BETA? The MacOS X Sierra GM build's version is "2.0 (445.1.15)" and I'd like to know whether I'd have to upgrade my external Photos libraries if I upgrade. Thanks.

Perhaps someday there will be some release notes which read:

Open GL updated to 4.5

and

VULKAN driver (beta)

That'll happen right around the time Apple opens its first apple store on Pluto.

Is anyone else having issues with connected displays in the new OS?

My display which was fine under the last OS, is now shockingly bad and detail isnt as crisp. All text is bigger and Ive been through every setting and nothing corrects it. Far from happy Im probably going to have to clean install to go back to the previous OS.

Im glad you've posted this - i thought i was going mad! All my fonts and screen looks super big on my
2560 x 1440 and I'm really annoyed that everything is super big and not as crisp as it was under the last OS. (see what i did there?!)
