I think that is not possible, you need an Apple Watch to close the rings.
It’s a feature of iOS 16, which is why I was questioning if it was working yet or not.
It’s meant to use the iPhones sensors and other fitness apps for the data.

I'm telling everyone I installed iOS 16 because I just KNOW y'all will want to know. :D

On a serious note...I'm pretty shocked at how stable it is. Thus far battery life is *better* than it was/is with iOS 15. Have made calls all morning long (since 6 a.m.), streamed music to Sonos, browsed the web, etc. blah blah, and I'm at 67%. Phone has stayed stone cold the whole time. I've yet to encounter any issue at all that would require me to submit a bug report.
Would never know it was a beta release, have had more issues from official releases than I've had with iOS 16 beta :D

Apple today seeded the first betas of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 to public beta testers, opening up the iOS 16 beta testing process to the general public for the first time since the Worldwide Developers Conference. Developers have already had three betas, and the first public beta coincides with the third developer beta.

Public beta testers who have signed up for Apple's beta testing program can download the iOS and iPadOS 15 updates over the air after installing the proper certificate from the Public Beta website.

iOS 16 brings an overhauled Lock Screen with customizable wallpapers, time, and widgets, plus notifications have been updated to roll in from the bottom of the display. Multiple Lock Screens are supported and can be linked with Focus modes.

The Messages app supports editing and deleting messages as well as marking messages unread. SharePlay is no longer limited to FaceTime, so Messages can be used for communication between people sharing content with one another. FaceTime calls can be handed off from one device to another, and the Health app gains a new Medications feature for tracking the vitamins and medicine that you take.

Apple is replacing passwords with Passkeys, and Safari now supports Shared Tab Groups for collaborating. In the Mail app, you can schedule emails, cancel sending, and receive follow-up reminders, and the Maps app supports multi-stop routing.

iCloud Shared Photo Library offers a convenient way to share a photos with family members, and Apple Pay Later will let users pay for Apple Pay purchases in fee-free installments. For the iPad, iPadOS 16 brings a Weather app and a new multi-tasking system called Stage Manager, but it's only for iPads with Apple silicon chips.

There are tons more features in iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, with a full rundown available in our dedicated roundups.

Everything works as expected except the keyboard. I do a lot more errors when typing. Anyone else?
Not really - typing seems quite the same to me…

I’m seeing some crashes and inaccuracies within the Fitness app, already submitted detailed reports. Also the environmental noise alerts have gone crazy (getting lots of false positives since the upgrade), and the Weather app seems to work weirdly, the hourly forecast looks quite inaccurate (though I yet need to compare it to my non-upgraded work iPhone to see if it’s really iOS 16 or whether the data has gone wrong). In general, the beta is quite usable, but I hope that even these smaller issues will be fixed in the next build, they’re a bit annoying 😃

I’ve submitted at least 10 bugs to the Feedback Assistant, but I’ve gotta say, I’ve never ran a first beta this long on a device without reverting back. It’s been on my daily the whole time.

Granted, I only have 9 non Apple apps on my iPhone so I probably have a lot less crashes than others do, but this is extremely stable and smooth for me.

On a sadder note, no update today made me sad

iphone SE 2nd Generation says you need an ios device to join the beta!!!??
It said the same for my 13 Mini (Install Profile was greyed out and could not access it).

I downloaded the profile using Firefox (it is not greyed out using Firefox), and emailed to myself. When you open the email and click on the profile, it will then allow you to install the profile.

So you cannot go back from Watch OS 9.0 Beta? What if you erase all settings (like you would when selling)? Will that not revert to the previous OS? If you revert your iPhone back from iOS 16 Beta to 15, then set up your Apple Watch will it not go back to Watch OS 8?
