Did they fix the constant Bluetooth disconnects from my Sync 3 system in my Mustang? Seems to be more widespread than just Sync, so you'd think Apple would get on this already. Not 1 issue with my iPhone 6s Plus running 9.x or the iOS 10 beta. So... what's the deal?

Does this STILL have the problem where it will "not" show the "name" of a caller when receiving a call while the phone is locked? It only shows the incoming phone number, and as I don't memorise all my contacts numbers and I want to know who's calling me before answering, I'm beginning to find it really irritating. It never used to be like this back in the old iOS 6 -7 days, so why is it happening now, It has been happening since iOS 9 at least? Is it some stupid "paranoid" security thing that prevents a locked phone access to the Contacts? Thats something that probably won't affect or even bother most iPhone users. If someone is clever enough to create device that hacks into my phone and gets all my contacts data in the split second that a call comes through from my mum while I'm walking down Basildon high street... Then there welcome to the data!!! Lets face it, it's not going to happen.
All my family have iPhones of various types and ages and they all experience the same thing, and all find it annoying and unnecessary, to the point where Android becomes a viable option for our next phone.

Out of curiosity how do you know something will or won't bother most iOS users? Iirc, on iOS 10 the contact name is displayed, but it's not something that bothers me.

And this is the first sentence of what this bring us... iOS 10.2 introduces new emoji, such as clown face, drooling face, selfie, face palm, fox face, owl, shark, butterfly, avocado, pancakes, croissant, and more.

That's because Apple's power users are fashionistas and Kardashians (what used to be digital creatives and developers)

Ok, If were getting pedantic... (roll eyes, I should have known better)
I don't know, thats why I said "probably"
In the real world, ask people if they are really bothered if just for a fraction of a second their phone's contacts were vulnerable. Maybe politicians, the police and even criminals would be concerned. But the average person in the street, I doubt it. Remember we are not talking about security information like bank details, were just talking about a name.

The contact name does not always display in iOS 10 when the device is in a locked status on iOS 9.0.1 through to and including 10.1.1 on iPhone 5, 5s, 5c, 6s, 6s+ and 7+

Well congratulations to you. Apple does have more than one device. :)
And that applies just as well the other way around.

Something weird is going on with your devices as that isn't an issue that is present for most.

Gimmicks, gimmicks everywhere. I'm holding out for an update that will restore Control Center to its former unified practicality.
Quite a few useful changes and fixes in this release that many people are finding useful.

Yeah, Apple making a small update to the emojis to be up to date with Unicode standard has little to do with anything of the sort.

Did they finally bring back playing all albums from an artist in a row without creating a playlist?

Yeah, the swiping thing is still driving me nuts. The two things I use most frequently - audio output selection/volume, and wifi/airplane mode toggle, are on separate screens.

Apple today seeded the fourth beta of an upcoming iOS 10.2 update to developers, two weeks after seeding the third beta of iOS 10.2 and a month after releasing iOS 10.1, the first major update to iOS 10.

Registered developers can download the fourth iOS 10.2 beta from the Apple Developer Center and it should be available over-the-air soon.

10.2-beta-800x450.jpg

iOS 10.2 introduces new emoji, such as clown face, drooling face, selfie, face palm, fox face, owl, shark, butterfly, avocado, pancakes, croissant, and more. There are more than a hundred new emoji, including several profession emoji available in both male and female genders, such as firefighter, mechanic, lawyer, doctor, scientist, and more. Apple has also redesigned many existing emoji, adding more detail to make them look much more realistic.

Along with new emoji, iOS 10.2 includes new wallpaper, new Music sorting options and buttons for Repeat and Shuffle, new "Celebrate" and "Send with Love" Screen Effects, an option for preserving camera settings, a TV widget and TV settings, Single-Sign On support for watching live TV via apps, and the official "TV" app that was first introduced at Apple's October 27 event.

The TV app serves as an Apple-designed TV guide that's designed to simplify the television watching experience and discover new TV shows and movies to watch. The TV app will eventually be available on both iOS devices and the Apple TV.

With iOS 10.2, the "Videos" app is replaced entirely with the new "TV" app, which will now serve as the TV and movie hub on iOS devices.

Apple has called iOS 10 its "biggest release ever" for iOS users, with a revamped lock screen, a Siri SDK for developers, an overhauled Messages app, a dedicated "Home" app for HomeKit users, new facial and object recognition capabilities in Photos, and redesigned Maps and Apple Music apps.

Update: iOS 10.2 beta 4 is now available as an over-the-air download.

Update 2: Apple has also made iOS 10.2 beta 4 available for public beta testers.

[doublepost=1480431735][/doublepost]I sure hope they fix the issue off excessive battery drain. Since I installed IOS 10.x my iPad Pro's battery only last about 24. Hrs with moderate use, no Bluetooth,. Esstetiall just browsing, FB and e-mail.

Location services are off and any apps that want to be continuously on are disabled.

Hard reset at least weekly. Apple Genius Bar rep tested battery at 100 ok with 127charge cycles. most of them recently. recently.

I usually do a full cycle charge when power < 10%.

Anyone seeing the same issue. My iPhone 5S and 7+ Do not seem to have an issue..

Comments?

10.2 beta contact name displays. But this is a name, number and picture. Maybe some would prefer no notification or the inability to answer the phone when it's locked.

Not just me... https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6586730?start=0&tstart=0
Yes, there are issues that various people experience, but that doesn't just mean they are widespread or built into the OS making the whole system junk. It sounds like there's something in play somewhere about the data or configuration or particular devices that are experiencing that.

I Never said it was junk. Just annoying!
Yes, It is an issue that effects various people, and maybe more than you think, and has been for the past 3 years. I have spoken to Apple in the past who have confirmed it's a known issue and that they are working on a fix. Personally I believe fixing faulty functionality should be more important then new emoji. Especially since it's been there for so long.

to your point, why items seemingly don't get addressed as soon as some would like, I can't tell you. However I do think Apple can multitask its development teams. It can be emojis and ?

Agreed, I'm all for development in all directions, but 3 years on one issue, thats not good by any standard

As stated in an earlier post "I have spoken to Apple in the past who have confirmed it's a known issue and that they are working on a fix"
Unfortunately a representative saying something fairly generic as that doesn't necessarily mean that's the case actually. Or that they know of some reposts of the issue but it isn't something common enough the that they have been allocating time to.

Your kidding right? iPad Pro is only rated for 10 hours of usage. If you are getting 24 hours, you don't have a problem.

Same issue here on a VW Passat 2015 Sport, my device fails to connect all the time. It's the only reason i check these releases, but no mention of a fix so far.

When did that start? I have a 2015 GTI, and haven't had any BT issues at all.
