The Beta 4 download seems to be "stuck" for me. It started yesterday and has about 4 minutes remaining. I just let it run and realized a couple hours later it never fully downloaded. Still stuck at 4 minutes. I turned on automatic downloads and hoped it would do so overnight while charging. Nope. I rebooted a few times, let a lot of time pass and still stuck. I removed the Beta profile, reboot, reinstall, reboot - still at 4 minutes. I have automatic updates off now and it still just sits thre.

Anyone else having this issue or know what the problem could be?

Yes I saw this and thought #firstworldproblems

A few of my coworkers were laughing about this but then we started wondering if they should implement bagel "skin tones", so you can choose, plain, cream cheese, lox, or butter. And why stop at bagels, I want a jelly doughnut emoji! Then one co-worker said he'd like a Hawaiian pizza option... he totally killed the mood. :D

I would not be mad at this. Because a Shelsky's everything w/ a schemer & lox is my...everything.

Apple today seeded the fourth beta of an upcoming iOS 12.1 update to developers, one week after seeding the third beta and a month after releasing iOS 12, a major new version of the iOS software.

Registered developers can download the new iOS 12.1 beta from Apple's Developer Center or over-the-air once the proper configuration profile has been installed from the Developer Center.

iOS 12.1 includes several new features that Apple promised would come to the iPhone XS and XS Max. The beta introduces support for the eSIM, which is a digital SIM that lets you activate a cellular plan from a carrier without the need to use a physical SIM card.

Carriers will need to implement support for eSIM, which is likely to happen after iOS 12.1 launches. In the U.S., AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile will support eSIM.

The iOS 12.1 update brings a new real-time Depth Control feature, which lets you adjust the depth of field of your Portrait Mode photos before you capture them. Right now, in iOS 12, Depth Control is only available for post-capture editing.

If you tap on the "F" icon at the top of the screen while capturing a photo you use Depth Control to adjust the amount of background blur in an image.

In addition to these iPhone XS and XS Max features, iOS 12.1 reintroduces the Group FaceTime feature that was removed from iOS 12 during the beta testing period. Group FaceTime was present in many early betas but was ultimately removed because Apple needed more time to test it.

Group FaceTime is designed to let iPhone and Mac users conduct video and audio chats with up to 32 participants at one time, with new camera effects features included.

The update also adds more than 70 new emoji to iPhones and iPads, with options that include red hair, gray hair, curly hair, cold face, party face, face with hearts, mango, kangaroo, peacock, lobster, cupcake, and tons more.

As for bug fixes, iOS 12.1 addresses a charging problem that could cause iPhone and iPad models running iOS 12 to fail to charge when connected to a Lightning cable while the screen is off and it fixes a bug that caused iPhone XS and XS Max models to prefer 2.4GHz WiFi networks to 5GHz networks, resulting in perceived slower WiFi speeds. Both of these bugs have also been addressed in the iOS 12.0.1 update, released last week.

If any additional new features are found in the fourth iOS 12.1 beta, we'll update this post with details.

Update: Apple has also seeded a new public beta of iOS 12.1 to its public beta testing group.

Update 2: As noted by Emojipedia, Apple tweaked the design of the bagel emoji in iOS 12.1 beta 4 to add cream cheese and more texture to the bread.

I’m on the developer program, but haven’t bothered with this beta yet. What has improved in your experience?
Battery life on my 6s seems a tad better, phone feels a tad smoother. I can't wait for the group facetime though. I don't think you can go wrong by installing the latest beta.

I’m only thinking now that if the Xr comes out before 12.1 does to the public, that I won’t be able to restore from a backup since the XR would have 12.0x. Anyone else in this boat?

You just setup the phone stand alone as a new phone, install beta profile and public beta, erase phone and restore from backup.

Please tell me they have fixed the settings screen stuck permanently open when viewing Apple News in landscape on iPad? It’s driving me bonkers & I can’t find a better news app.

Now I just wish they would fix the ugly Notification Center. Every control panel of the iPhone has a opaque background the notification center is the only one that just sucks... it’s a pull down lock screen it’s so lazy

Apple is getting lazier and more complacent by the minute these days. Look at Siri, that b!tch can't even listen without the user having to touch or call her stupid name again, how FREAKING STUPID do you have to be to code a b!tch to say "I'm sorry, I didn't get that" and then 5 years later to STILL not have freakin programmed tha b!tch to auto-listen after saying that stupid obnoxious line.

EDIT I'm sorry freaking 7 (!) years this ****'s been around and Siri still acting dumb as **** you literally have to SPELL very damn number out if there's two different numbers in the contact for the same name, she's so stupid I'm wondering if there even is any artificial intelligence behind that stupid feature.

When Apple decides to make an IOS upgrade actually increase the speed of older devices, then I’ll update the IOS.
Otherwise, Why should anyone contribute to Apple’s intended goal of accelerating the demise of devices more than one year old?
They can ‘intend’ to increase the speed of an IOS or ‘intend’ to Brick older devices. They’ve chosen the latter.
I will no longer accelerate and contribute to that process by updating.
