Hi,
I had the same problem as you. Occurred that when doing a clean install, there's a bug with the keyboard. Mine is set in "French Swiss".... And I was typing my password correctly.... but never worked... It happens that when I log in, the default keyboard is set on "French France" and no way to change it... The difference is that "French Swiss" uses a QWERTZ keyboard and "French France" uses AZERTY... So depending on the characters you use, it won't work.
I searched for a copy of the AZERTY keyboard (I have symbols and complicated password so it took time...) but it worked.
Sadly it does the same at every log in .... Maybe DP4 will fix this ... I sent a bug radar for this.
Sorry for my bad English.

Ty, would you be so kind as to check something for me?
I reinstalled a fresh DP3 copy today, and my usual login password was not accepted at login. It contains caps, small letters, numbers and symbols.
After much trial and errors, I removed numbers and symbols from the password, and login started accepting the new password at each boot.
Could you see if your DP3/4 install shows the same behaviour?
