My widgets are still there, but the only one that's showing content is the battery widget. All the others show grayed out content. Totally broken on desktop and in notification center.

Also, iPhone widgets are nowhere to be found. In looking at the release notes, there are a lot of widget bugs fixed but it seems like this beta introduces far more. I have iPhone widgets enabled in Settings. Widgets are totally busted for me.
Had the same issue with widgets not showing, but restarted the Macbook one more time and then they showed up. Might be worth a try ...

Apple done anything about System Settings yet? It sort of reminds me of the Microsoft ribbon in that I find it really hard to find the setting I want to adjust, if Apple hasn't removed it altogether.
Have you tried the System Settings search box? Fast and easy.

Honestly, System Preferences was equally bad. We were just used to it.

Two good approaches:

1. Use the View menu, which contains all panes in alphabetical order.
2. Use the search function.

There's minor improvements, but nothing major enough to really improve things. I think the next problem they should address is the grouping; only after that will it be good enough to even think of how to improve it.

This worked for me too. Interestingly, I chose "Shut down..." but it did a "Restart..." instead but widgets cleaned up. Did another shut down to check that issue and it shut down as it should. Maybe some glitches in the install process...

That’s what happened right after I posted my message.
They appeared, but blank.
Then, they populated normally About five minutes later.
Must have just been re-indexing after the install or something like that

Network scanning isn't working for me. It just hangs on Saving Image. Could be a driver thing I suppose, but this worked previously.

For me the 1st reboot didn't actually seem to kick off the install.
2nd Reboot took me into recovery mode....
3rd reboot.....well, we'll see, but right now I'm just at a black screen.

Well seems to have finally finished. After that I still needed to reboot for a few apps to work. Till now this Beta has been rock solid for me.

Boom. That did it. They're now back. My iPhone widgets are still not available, but they were in the previous beta. Hopefully they'll pop back in at some point. Thank you.

I'm getting the feeling that if something's not working after installing this beta or future ones, restart your Mac and try again... like Windows.

Weird, does not work for me. Updating through Settings work, and then it restarts, and the installer appears to be initiating, but then it restarts and I get a message saying my Mac had shut down unexpectedly. Moving forward from that shows the update still available in Settings.

Odd.

Got the exact same, every time it starts installing before rebooting and saying it shut down unexpectedly!

Networking was broken on boot up. No internet connection at all. Reboot fixes everything. All desktop widgets working fine and the big thing is this build is FAST for me. Everything is flying. Seems around 20% quicker than last beta for just opening apps and running basic tasks etc.
I've had that happen to me on regular OS updates. Not always, but sometimes where it just won't connect to the internet, even though I'm wired in over Ethernet. And yeah, a reboot fixes it. Haven't had this happen yet with these Betas.
