How's the battery life?

Just installed iPadOS 18 beta 4, no apple intelligence yet
battery seems typical in the first 5 minutes

Have Apple not already said those beta features won’t really be coming till Jan ‘25?

I'm still having issues with my iPhone listening for "Siri" or "Hey Siri". I did find a workaround, if I go to Accessibility > Siri and change the speed of the SPEAKING RATE, it starts listening again. Very odd. Dictation in iMessage also stops working for some reason. I hope this updates fixes both issues.

I do not have a delay in Hey Siri, but there is a lag for when the dictation in messages and other apps starts to capture my voice. It is so annoying. Sometimes it is 2 seconds, other times it is 5 seconds.

The Speaking Rate setting does nothing for this. I almost want to see if it is a hardware issue by downgrading back to iOS 17.

up to your carrier to enable, but for me it took about 20-30 min after enabling for it to start working.

Yes!! They fixed it! I can now watch TikTok more than the hour I had allotted myself. 😁

It would appear RCS is now able to be enabled on Xfinity Mobile, but it does not seem to be working still. Turned the setting on and off, also restarted the phone a couple of times, and nothing has worked so far. Even deleted an SMS thread to see if it would pick up as RCS.

You know its funny I'm on public beta but was still reading this thread and seeing folks with cellular issues. Not sure if its related to today's beta. My carrier is Verizon and it seems like the baseband on my phone crashed three times today. I had to airplane mode reset twice and a full reboot the last time. Just FYI.

Now this is truly a beta.. it’s the worst one.. i can’t even get screen to come up after it goes to sleep/dark..
UPDATE: this appears to be a bug with the auto brightness.. i submitted it.
