I noticed 10.12.4 beta 4 fixes a bug in Mail that I reported to Apple months ago - prior to this update pdf files attached to emails appeared as generic icons in the In and Sent box but now the pdf files appear with the proper icon

I really hope they've fixed the fact that KernelTask is eating up almost 3 gigs of memory..if this is the norm. I'm doing a clean install of El Capitan. Sierra is just starting to piss me off. They can keep Siri, this is just ridiculous.

I hope it has a few more features on the Mac than the iOS version, which is pretty barebones compared to Flux. I'd like to be able to set seperate evening and nightime colour temperatures, whereas night shift on ios has a quick transition between day and night with no in between.

Night Shift is great on my phone and iPad especially browsing before bed...

But as a graphic designer/photographer, I just can't have it transpiring on my iMac screen.

Hmmmm. Seems to have broken my Parallels Windows 10. It starts up, but never gets to where I can type in my Windows password. I only use Parallels for that one program I use, that is not available on macOS.

Anyone else?

Regarding nightshift: Or, if you wear contact lenses, just get contact lenses with a blue filter.

f.lux etc change the tones in accordance with your local sun cycle.. so, a bit different than glasses with blue filter.. if that were the case, displays would just be made to default to warmer tones regardless of time of day.

Kinda crashy. Two memory faults/panic shutdowns so far.. one 9 hours into a 3d print job with only a couple layers to go... Doh!

Hate to be logical but how about doing this for the watch with an always on face for those of us who wake up at night and want to know the time without being blinded.

I hate night shift on my phone, never mind the computer. imo, it seems like a solution in search of a problem.

There's scientific evidence to back up its usefulness. I use it on all of my devices and it definitely has a positive effect. Sometimes if I have to turn it off at night, to do some colour work or something, my eyes start physically straining and I can get headaches just because I'm no longer looking at a warm screen.

It benefits you, and has no effect on your use of the device. Can't see why you wouldn't use it.

It seems to me that you've created a problem as a response to the solution.

don't want to surf the web with less than natural colours.

I can't see how this has any bearing on your enjoyment of the internet... Plus it's only at night time you'll see the 'slightly off' colours. Seems like an odd excuse, they're just images on the Internet. If you want to see something in natural colour, just turn it off briefly.

Seems like some people come up with new problems anytime Apple give us something actually useful.
[doublepost=1488363269][/doublepost]Some people's endless defiance against software updates truly baffles me. It's like Apple are all "Here, have an update for your device...FOR FREE!" and people are all like "NO I DON'T WANT IT YOU CAN'T MAKE ME HAVE IT"

If Apple were still charging for updates, I bet you'd all have something else to say.

Never seen so many people so ungrateful for free device updates!

I'm wearing my watch when sleeping and have got a night face just for that reason. It has minimal info and is all red.

Hopefully this is closer to coming out publicly, perhaps sometime this month.

That's your opinion, and I amongst others have another one, to me Nightshift/F.lux or any other program which changes my colours is not needed, so I won't turn it on.
The option is good for all since you can turn it on/off.
