And so what? People don't use 56K modems anymore.

Half of my time I reside in Indonesia, it's not the slow data but data is expensive, most people in Indonesia (if they have internet) have internet on their mobile phones, speed is ok but downloading several beta's in a month just costs too much.
Or, even worse, downloading a new OS!

Then dont download betas.

Some people, myself included, live in areas where these updates still take hours to download due to this country's wonderful broadband infrastructure. I'm willing to put up with the trouble (usually just download big updates overnight when I'm not on my Mac anyway), but he's not wrong to complain if he's in a similar situation.

To be honest.. I've stopped caring about these updates. The WiFi + Bluetooth seems to have no fix at all during Yosemite. Resulted in turning off Bluetooth to have a stable connection instead. I keep downloading every Dev seed but, don't care for them really.

I'm just looking forward to WWDC15 now, to see what Apple brings to the table with OS X 10.11 & iOS 9. 13 days to go! Will be a blast :D:apple:

After again trying Yosemite (10.10.3) this weekend, I officially give up on it. Too many bugs to be usable. Maybe 10.10.4 fixes some of them, but Apple has lost my trust with Yosemite. It's actually kinda shocking, as I'm usually a day one upgrader, but Yosemite is a nightmare. I'll see how the next OS update is received but am sticking with 10.9 at least until then.

Had a quick look round the apps cant see any new items must all be background updates Shame was hoping they were going to sort photos so you could add location info or change if wrong

We've got people complaining that they have too fast an internet, get things done in too short a time and have plenty of time NBTD but to chastise others... There's a phrase for it - First World Problem...! :p:p

Not to jump on someone else's thread, but my biggest complaint is that if you are editing a bunch of images, and delete one, it takes you out of the Editing process, and back to the browser, and you have to click on Edit again.

On an unrelated note, has anyone figured out the difference between the top folder called "Photos" and the album called "All Photos?"
All Photos has about 1,000 more images in my library...

Some other things:
1. Entering a title, hit tab, and it goes nowhere. It should go to the next photo.
2. Ditto for face tagging

That said, if a competing broadband provider can provide us with anything faster than 512 Kbps down, believe me, I'll snatch it up the moment it's available at my residence. But until then, we're stuck with the same monopoly we've always had. God bless America!

This beta fixed my trackpad problems I had with the last beta(macbook pro 2014 15 infh)Hopefully it fixes inconsistent battery life, helps with it getting hot, and wifi drops(but time will tell).

What kind of issues are you experiencing?

Not attacking you just genuinely curious because I have not been using Photos as much as before on my Mac . . .

Part of my dissatisfaction may just be a learning curve. For me at least, many elements of Photos just aren’t intuitive. Lots of little things, but they add up. Probably just minor adjustments for me to get used to.
I understand the push to make iOS and OS X more integrated, but sometimes it just seems like a headache.

This next thing isn’t an issue with the Photos interface, but more “under the hood” stuff.
I am among a small number of users who experienced serious issues with iCloud Photo Library. I don’t want to go into great detail here (I mentioned it in another thread once), but a decent number of users are having their internet completely crash when they switch on iCloud Photo Library. Not just slow uploads, which would be reasonably expected, but a complete crash where a modem reset is required.

Here’s a link to a discussion about this in Apple Support Communities in case you’d like to explore it.
However, if you’re not having an issue, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Again, it seems like a small number of people are affected. I’ve followed this closely and have seen a lot of discussion (and heated arguments) as to whether it’s a user issue regarding what brand of modem someone has or if it’s an ISP problem or if it really is a “bug”. There may be elements of truth to all of those, but there is definitely a problem for some users.

I’ve also seen other discussions in Apple Support that point to the same issue. Hopefully resolved soon.

I've had persistent issues with wifi connections and failure to wake from sleep. This has been seen on my wife's Mac Mini, my Mum's Mac Mini, and more persistently and consistently, my MacBook Pro retina bought last July.

I had joked how Apple must have hired a bunch of Microsoft programmers given how crappy the whole Yosemite update/upgrade experience had been. The flipside being that I'm also running MS Office 365 on my Mac, iPad and Windows 7 VM (Parallels) and the Office for Mac 2016 beta, and these have worked brilliantly, especially the sync of files via MS's OneDrive - they seem to be out-Appleing Apple in this area.

My MBPr would consistently fail to wake properly from sleep when connected to WIFI - it would need a hard reboot - a minor pain as it books quickly being a 2.9Ghz or similr 16Gb machine with 512Gb of flash etc...

Well, I came across this information about wifi & networking issues, followed the first listed 'fix' - and my wifi issues on my MBPr have now gone!
http://osxdaily.com/2014/10/25/fix-wi-fi-problems-os-x-yosemite/

That said, I still favour the Mac experience, incuding with problems & upgrades etc.

I have just been travelling though Asia on business - my MBPr totally crapped out in Singapore just prior to me having to deliver a 1 day workshop - all my files on my MBPr which now refused to boot at all... To cut a long story short, I managed to do a HD wipe, fresh install of 10.10.2 (from a USB drive I always carry...), update to 10.10.3, and recover all my files/user account etc whilst travelling between Singapore & London and my first day in London. I'd never even think of doing that with a Windows setup!

I am unable to download the update. It downloads until 78MB and then message appears that "Available updates have changed. Click “Show Details” to see the available updates". I click show detail then nothing happens, it is going in loop and not downloading for me. I have restarted the mac but no luck. I am on the public beta btw.

Same here, caught in the same loop, several restarts later I have given up for now. I am in the UK
