Apple today seeded the fourth beta of an upcoming OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan update to developers and public beta testers, just one week after seeding the third beta and a full month after releasing OS X 10.11.1, the first OS X El Capitan update, to the public.

The fourth beta, build 15C47a, is available through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store and can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center. Public beta testers can download the beta through the Mac App Store.

We don't know exactly what improvements the 10.11.2 update will bring to OS X El Capitan, because the betas seem to be focused on under-the-hood upgrades with no apparent outward-facing changes. It's likely to include bug fixes, security enhancements, and performance improvements to address problems that have popped up since the release of OS X 10.11.1.

Apple's release notes for OS X 10.11.2 have asked developers to focus on Networking, Graphics, Mail, Wi-Fi, Calendar, USB, Notes, Photos, and Spotlight.

The upgrade took forever compared to the other beta upgrades. I do not know why. Will revert to backup and do it again to try and figure it out.

I have the public beta and have found it to be very stable. Really have not had any issues to complain about. Everything I use seems to work well.

I think it's safe to say the public release of 9.2 will be released tomorrow.
It won't be. Apple releases OS X and iOS updates concurrently, which is critical to do since both operating systems need many of the same security updates.

Really, why do you think that? So no new Beta for iOS9.2?
They've been consistently releasing betas on a Tuesday for the past 8 weeks, and the only times they've skipped a day was right before public release.

But who knows, maybe they've wait an extra week to fix more bugs.

focus on networking...

Is it just me or does mDNSResponder's behavior look from time to time (in something like Little Snitch) a lot like the way Discoveryd used to act? Sometimes it just goes crazy. Hope they aren't putting the wolf back in mDNSResponder's clothing.

I hope they've fixed the annoying bugs that existed since the first ever El Cap public beta. Especially the bug that makes the system unresponsive from time to time.

I'm a rolling stone.
iOS 9.2 is the one I'm waiting for today. 9.2 is getting extremely good.

Not on a 4S, it's slow like molasses, lots of bugs.

For you, no problem here, but I had kind of e freeze, guess what, it was Silverlight, a Safari plugin, removed it and that solved it.

So now this is considered front page news again? Last week you moved it to the Mac Blog and now it's back once again. How is this even rumors?! This, while the rumor of a new 4" iPhone is moved OFF the main page to the iOS Blog.

Any OS X/iOS updates should be front page news by default imo. Macrumors is a website name. Not everything has to be a rumor.
