If Akamai could handle it why do I never get more then 5mbps from Apple's dev downloads at work? My connection is fine. They just limit speeds or are overloaded.
Not sure but I've never had that problem from home (30mbps at home)

I wonder why it's pulled. *shrug*

Or maybe they are preparing the first ever developer seed of Mac OS X Lion![]()
Any major differences between xcode 3? I'm guessing this is a step towards more seamless ios development?

A striking thought:
What is, this was actually XCode for Lion. You know, the one found on the OS X install disc. They accidentally but it up instead of the Snow Leopard one, so they took it down. I wonder if someone did actually download it, then maybe it could be compared to the Snow Leopard one, and see the differences.
You must have spotted it at just the right time, then... lucky you (or unlucky, if the build you downloaded was pulled because of a serious bug). I'm not surprised that developer builds of Xcode 4 are under wraps right now - that's typical Apple policy, and something I've learned to expect from them. That said, I have to wonder what other goodies Apple's put in Xcode. Guess I'll find out when the final version's released (or when I make the jump to Lion).Actually, yes, I did get to download it. It's installing right now. However, I don't think that I can give you any details.![]()

This is good news - makes me all the more ready for whenever Apple decides to release it. As a side note, I'm currently debating the merits of joining the Mac developer program... I definitely won't join today (I need to learn Obj-C 2.0 first, heh heh) but I intend to sign up sometime. Perhaps when I purchase my next Mac - that's the timing I'm leaning towards right now.Well, I've only seen the "About Xcode and iOS SDK.pdf" file so far (still installing...) but it looks promising. There are some things in it which I've really wanted to see

XCode 4 does look really nice...except that it dropped support for a key third-party program. My company would probably stop developing for iOS if Apple ever started requiring XCode 4 because of this.
