Cool! Does anybody know if we're allowed to use this GM version to compile apps for release on the App Store(s)? Or are we supposed to still compile with 3.2 for app store releases since this is not a regular release yet?

Xcode 4 GM seed can now be used to submit iOS and Mac apps to the App Store.
Xcode 4 GM seed includes the iOS SDK 4.2 and Mac OS X SDK 10.6.
Xcode GM seed is pre-release software and is considered Apple Confidential Information and is subject to the terms of your iOS Developer Program License Agreement. Unauthorized distribution or disclosure of Apple Confidential Information is prohibited.

For those that don't bother to read the release notes

Performance Measurement and Analysis
A kernel extension included with Xcode 4 Developer Preview 6 has a false version number. Future
updates to this extension are not possible unless removing the kernel extension prior to
installation.
Before installing Xcode 4.0 GM Seed, perform these actions:
In Terminal, execute these commands:
sudo rm -rf
/System/Library/Extensions/AppleProfileFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleIntelPenrynProfile.kext
sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions

Now that I can see it myself here's the thing that clears it all up for me - "Xcode 4 GM seed". It's a seed release not a final release.

So yes it is still under NDA I agree!

Without wishing to be rude, it's not too important whether you agree or not, it was not up for debate, Apple is very clear about it.

The thing that should 'clear it up' for you is the word 'pre-release'. I think you need to learn a bit about software development and what a 'seed' actually means. In this instance, the word 'seed' has little to do with it.

This is quite exasperating as you failed to understand my last post but we will try once more. From the download page:
Xcode GM seed is pre-release software and is considered Apple Confidential Information and is subject to the terms of your iOS Developer Program License Agreement.
In exactly the same way, on another page of the dev centre:
OS SDK 4.3 beta, iOS 4.3 beta, and Apple TV Software beta are pre-release software and are considered Apple Confidential Information and are subject to the terms of your iOS Developer Program License Agreement.

The salient word is pre-release.

I'm actually a bit excited! I guess this is finally incontrovertible proof I am in fact a geek.. :)

Of course, gm seed on the day that my dev account expires (or is it the other way around?). Well, given what I have seen over the last year, no big deal.

Most probably the biggest complaint of many devs since Preview 1 will still not be solved in this gm and most probably also in the final release. So why bother.
