The site does say you need Xcode beta before installing. Provides a link too. I may try my iPad Air 2 first as that is the least important device for me.

It just worked for me on a Mac using the latest public beta of Sierra without Xcode installed. YMMV.

From which website do you download the iOS 10 GM?

I found these two: click and click.

Both websites direct to the same download portal. Does the GM from this download website work?

Greetings from Germany
Casey

I suspect that's due to the version of iTunes you'll have in that beta. I just tried from an El Capitan machine (iTunes 12.4.3.1) and also got the error 14. Which suggests USB according to the Apple website, but looks like I'll be restoring back to 9.3.5. Shame, as this didn't happen in previous years.

You don't need to install any profile to install GM. Just get the IPSW from Apple Dev site (or some other public upload if you aren't a paying dev) and restore the phone via iTunes.

If you are installing via El Capitan, you need Xcode 8 GM to stop the Error 14 when you install the 10.0.1 IPSW. This is confirmed via my phone - I originally bricked it, said it needed to go back to 9.3.5 but installing Xcode 8 GM fixed the problem

Hey, What to do in my case since i am on Yosemite ?

I was able to update to iOS 10 GM OTA. You need to get your hands on the developer profile that was listed in this thread earlier.

Do you still get the DP or PB updates after installing the GM?
I dont have the beta profile installed I just wanted to install the GM and not get pulled into the beta loope releases.
You cant do that. Also you would not have gotten DP or PB without having a profile to start with. So not really following your initial question then. The release will be out next Tuesday and you can get that without the profiles or getting into the beta loop.

He could just get the profile, install the GM then delete the profile.

Windows Users are out of luck as well. Just got Error 14 on a few devices I tried in the house.

Ended up having to restore to 9.3.5 and then installed the following profile from http://bit.ly/29kVIjk which then allows the GM install OTA

It works like this. If you have El Capitan with Xcode installed, it will work in most cases. No Xcode, error 14. If you run the latest version of the beta of MacOS Sierra, no need for Xcode. It will work. If you run Windows, error 14.

This has been the most difficult GM to install as far as I can remember. A few more variables than before.

I agree with this. Feels like Apple is just being a plain ass about it.

FYI -- the GM deletes Swift Playgrounds completely from iPad. Maybe his was expected, but came as a surprise to me. Looks like won't be able to get it back until later this fall, based on apple site.

The app had earlier warned that work must be saved in iCloud to carryover but it wasn't clear exactly why until now.

IT WORKED! :)

I downloaded the developer profile from this website and installed iOS 10 GM OTA without my Mac and without iTunes or XCode.

Don't forget to backup your iPhone before installing it (just in case).

You can just use the developer profile for installing iOS 10 GM and delete it afterwards. ;)

Have fun,
Casey

Worked perfectly for me too.

Hey Casey,

Well my iOS 9.3 is jailbroken, so if i install the profile, would it work ? Ps: noob at this stuff so hope its okay to ask

You will also need the WatchOS configuration Profile if you want to update an Apple Watch to Watch OS 3 GM.

Settings / General / Profiles & Device Management / iOS Beta Software Profile / Delete Profile

On the General menu, start at the bottom -- it's 3 up from the bottom on my iPhone.

Should i delete the Public Beta profile from my iphone now that i have the GM Installed?

Depends if you are planning on further betas down the line. If you are only wanting on the release channel then sure. Doesn't hurt being there tho.. Deleting it will also remove the feedback app .

I do not want any further betas, i wanted to stay on the beta profile until apple seeded the final GM
