Looks like the AirPods Pro firmware is also updated (7B13d).

I'm jumping off the beta train here. Also jumping off from the normal ios updates train with 18.4 or whatsoever. I have 15pm and i lost %7 of battery health (100 to 93) with these updates. For what? Black icons and some ai features that does not have any impact in my life. I'm so angry at myself because of my hype.

I was thinking of joining the beta band wagon but maybe I’ll hold off.

I’m not on any betas, but has Siri been incredibly slow leading up to this release? I keep wondering if the cloud is strained with the new incoming AI stuff
Siri has been a shambles for me. I speak to it, and it’s a good 10 seconds for it to realise what I said, if it even gets it.

iPhone 16 Pro Max and always on a strong connection. My watch has been much better. Hopefully 16.1 solves that

software didn't suddenly physically degrade your battery

Dont keep saying this lie just because it sounds reasonable. A lot of people lost approximately same amount of battery life with these updates. I'm using my phone always %20-80 range just to preserve battery health. I never used while it was charging. I did everything perfectly and everything was indeed perfect until i decided to jump in to 18.0 and 18.1 beta updates in july. Then my battery got destroyed.

Year old 15 Pro Max. Running 18RC1, smooth, battery life great, battery health at 97%. No issues here.

Has anyone’s battery improved? Mine seems to be worse after updating to the RC. I hope Apple will be able to fix this drain or if this is a sign for Apple Intelligence, then no thanks. I’m a huge Apple fanboy, but if the battery can’t last the full day, then what’s the point? I thought they had fixed this with the iPhone 11. But seems like it’s just not getting better.

I'm really sorry, that's horrible.

I understand your anger, but don't direct it at yourself. Lots of us who install betas get seduced by the promise of cool new features, as well as fixes to minor issues we've had on the public release software. Most of the time this isn't a disaster; sometimes it is.

My experience has been a lot different. 11-month old 15PM with battery health = 99%, same as before I installed any of the 18.1 betas.

I hope the problems you're experiencing are fixable, and that the fix is forthcoming soon. Good luck.

Sorry if you already know this, but just in case:

There's faster battery drain after installing a new iOS version or new beta because of indexing and processing in the background, which can take a few hours or a day.

I think it's worse for 18.1 because of the new intelligence features, which are supposed to run on device.

Hopefully by tomorrow you'll be back to all-day better life. Good luck!

Betas are always hard on battery life.

I just used the hearing test feature. Just... wow.

I have very mild hearing loss. But even with that, when I turned on the Media Assistance feature, everything sounded just a bit clearer. I can only imagine what a difference this will make for people with more severe hearing loss!

This sort of thing is why I stick with Apple products. Sometimes they just go above and beyond and this was one of those cases.

Current beta is on 7B13d. Waiting for the AirPods firmware update too!
I haven’t been able to set up my AirPods Pro 2 with an audiogram for ca 2 months.

Today, with last weeks public beta and iPods firmware 7B13d, before today’s update dropped, I had phone forget them; I reset them; then repaired them.

Then I tried again to set up with audio gram. Instead of the Not Supported message of the last few months, I got the set up page, but it crashed 2 steps in, twice. I gave up.

Then saw the latest PB dropped. I installed it and, even with 7B13d, I saw the Hearing test, so I had ok it.

Results were much like my audiogram, so I applied it on o the hearing aid function.

Seems good so far.

In combination with the vastly improved ambient noise filtering not passing noise to one’s call partner over the last month or so, air pods pro 2’s are finally reaching their stride.

Looking forward to trying thee hearing aid functionality in public tomorrow.
