if I download by way of public beta would that be the RC?
Do you mean this? Keep downloaded?I didn’t see this feature listed in my RSS feed for MacRumours, but there is a thread on reddit that says iOS 18 will allow you to configure folders as “always download” to keep them on your device.
Can someone confirm that this feature is still there in the most recent betas?
I’ve definitely seen features added and then dropped during the beta process, but I’m hoping that it didn’t happen here.
Still no RCS for Vodafone UK, looks like this is not going to be enabled anytime soon for the UK.
You're probably thinking of an instance where they re-released the same version number with a new build, but you couldn't update to it if you already had that version installed. It isn't exactly uncommon for this to happen. The most recent example of this happening is a few weeks ago with iOS 17.6.1.No, the final release had the same build number as the RC but there were still some bugs wiped out. Can't remember which iOS it was.
It was like that though. And now on Sequoia there's a bug where the calendar widget shows the day in English although my Mac is in German. Apple cannot recompile different code and have it be the same build number as another build; nor is it the build number that drives the updates.
I wouldn't fuss about it. I believe these minor updates are usually to fix installation issues. If it managed to install fine, then you don't need the update because it's already installed. If Apple needs to fix some things before next week, we'll get an RC2 update.
It should be. Just as safe as any .0 release from Apple. RC means Release Candidate. Unless they find anything that can't wait for 18.0.1 then this is the final version. It's likely the version that's being flashed onto the iPhone 16's before they get shipped. What if I am impatient and don't want to wait for the public release next week? Is this RC fine to install?
Still no RCS in the UK
Did you find out? Was wondering the same thingDoes the firmware for APP2 with voice isolation come with this?
O2. I wonder if it's related to this: https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Welcome-News/RCS-An-Update-from-O2/td-p/1656507Which network are you on? Can confirm its definitely there on EE and I think I read it was on Three.
