I'm definitely happy that they're adding multitasking gestures back to the iPad 1. No need for a jailbreak now.

Now, can they PLEASE fix the Safari crashing issue on the iPad 1?! That one's the most infuriating, as I actually added multitasking gestures using a modified version of redsn0w that doesn't apply a jailbreak.

umm you always need a jailbreak.. ios is crap with no BJ..

Thanks a lot. I told my wife that my iOS needed a BJ and now I have the imprint of an iPhone on the side of my head.

Haha... sheeps.

Can you point me to the directions on how to do that? I must have my gestures back NOW, but I don't want to jailbreak again. :( Please and thank you. :)

they will probably turn off some location services by default and call it a bug fix :p no jk, idk how they could possible fix a battery. its still doing better than the average android smartphone. iphone users like me r just spoilt and expect more ^^

This phones been a bit crook and it's been given me some curry.
No worries mate, she'll be right now....

All good fixes, but what about the sync problem...

If the release notes are true, this fixes almost every single problem with iOS 5. Nice

I agree with the attached quote, but I'm finding the issue surrounding syncing to both my iPhone 4S and my wife's 3GS (on separate computers) profoundly frustrating.

Connect > iTunes > Sync > several steps to sync > last step stalls, and stalls, and stalls. Never-ending message of "waiting for changes to be applied" or such. Surely this is a major inconvenience worth both addressing and mentioning in a release note.

Funny thing though, I haven't experienced any battery issues whatsoever on the 4S - lasts for a while with heavy use and for a long time when sitting idly by. Strange.

You don't want to do that. The hack he speaks of is what causes the Safari crashes he wants fixed. I applied the same tweak to my iPad, and while I got the gestures, Safari (and a few other apps) would crash immediately on launch. The problem was resolved with a restore to an un-hacked iOS.

Just wait for the official update. You can make it a few more weeks.

cant u enable the gestures using xcode without having to jailbreak?

I really hope this fixes my bluetooth bug as well. Contacts no longer sync with car nav. on iOS 5..

I am getting
Code:
Your software is up to date.

When the public version of iOS5 was released, this is the version I uploaded on my iPod Touch and now I am not getting updates for developers. Do I have to download the entire image of 5.01 now?

I was on the phone the other day with AppleCare about Safari crashing on the iPad 1 but not the iPad 2. When I first reported it Apple thought it was a hardware issue with my iPad 1. Apple ended replacing my iPad with another one. I was able to show Apple that the problem happened on the second one they gave me plus the AppleCare rep was able to reproduce it. The rep sent it up to engineering. I hope the fix gets in iOS 5.0.1.

Can't wait to have Multi touch gestures back for the original iPad, I've missed them so much. I'm looking forward to see how well the OTA update goes as well.

Yep, even if you might be jk, you're hitting the nail on the head.

Like I said though, the sheep will hate you for life just because you speak the truth.

Wish they would fix push notifications for exchange mail. They lag up to 10 min. Sometimes even longer. Not so instant anymore...
