this is ridiculous! the public iPod touch version still does not work! It brings up the exact same error :-(

Wow. I went on a bike ride today for a few hours. Location services is stuck being on and my phone has been absolutely eating battery. Normally, at this time of day, my phone would be at around 40-50% battery. It's at 12%.

I've always found it takes a few days for usage to settle. If its still that bad after 3-4 days then a restore should sort it.

Its Apple's fault because they released beta 5 of the software for the iPod touch to replace beta 4, and stuffed it up, so now the previous version has expired. If they released it correctly, this would not have occurred. Every other released has been timed correctly, not this one.

It's your fault. Betas are not meant for primary daily use devices. For testing only...

it's also got the same md5 hash... can't they afford test devices or at least read the devforums?

and it also doesn't work with a full restore.

I can't wait for 6.1 to be released and then 10 minutes later people take to the boards saying it's stale and boring and that they want iOS 7. It's almost like some people expect point updates to be major overhauls.

Just as I suspected, the "iOS 6.1 is released" thread is full of whiners complaining that iOS 6.1 is a boring update and Apple is over the cliff and flying toward its demise.

Round 2 - Downloaded the release version of 6.1 for iPod Touch 5th Gen, same issue - locked out and could not be activated "Your ipod touch could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable....." Great work Apple releasing the release version and meanwhile people still have locked out iPod touches - great service.

I checked apples support pages but I can't seem to find the software download? Do they actually post a copy I like to have it on my mac just incase.

Your own fault for putting beta software on a primary use device. You have no grounds to complain. If it was meant for everyday use, apple stores would support it, but it's not, so they don't. It's only meant for devs to use to test their apps on.

If you knew i was joking why explain? Doesn't make sense. It's like explaining a joke. You ruin it.
This has nothing to do with what I am saying. You made a joke. And I replied with some facts. That's all. Until you took it personally. I have no idea why.

But anyways lets shake virtual hands, make up and move on. This is a petty little thing to be going on and on about.

I was going to suggest the same thing.
