the stereo bluetooth is def feasible, it was in 1. something via the voicemail menu. You had to trick it into thinking you were checking messages.

Two finger mouses are annoying. I use them at work and I constantly get the dialog menus popping up. Control click them.

Just fix the bugs Apple.

Enough with the "innovation." Seriously. Your user base can't take it anymore.

The last iPod OS update was buggy as hell. Leopard required two of the largest patches in Apple's history to get stable, and things like Spaces, Firewall, to-do's still work like they were designed by Microsoft on their worst days.

And then there is the iPhone 2.0 and mobileme disasters.

I don't want more features. Learn from Microsoft's bloat for the love of God.

Just give me quality Apple. Just give me quality.

Because innovation without quality will push Apple back into a niche company. People need their computers, email, calendars, and phones to actually work.

Can we finally get cut and paste in OS X? Not going to happen. How about a 2nd button on laptops? Not going to happen. Apple is stubborn. And that's not good.

For the record, I have used laptops with one button and with two buttons. I prefer one button. The touchpad is not a mouse. If you want a mouse, get a mouse. One button makes it possible to click easily with either hand and you don't accidentally click the wrong spot.

Besides, with touch you can right click with a two finger tap anywhere on the touch pad.

Wrong, wrong, and, well, wrong. You were not "under contract" with Apple, ever. AT&T was providing a "revenue share" agreement to Apple, but that had nothing to do with the end customer. The reason they could provide new features without charging for them (and without going through the requisite accounting nightmare to give them for free) was because they were accounting for iPhone revenue under a subscription model (recognizing the revenue evenly over a 24 month period).

*sigh* there's not a law that doesn't allow free added features, it just creates an accounting nightmare so horrifying that it's best not to do it if you're a public company under the domain of Sarbanes-Oxley. The issue is a financial reporting issue.

Wow,very informed...or a great liar...are you an accountant, lawyer, or both. Kudos my friend. I'm in the Los Angeles area...does anyone have bad 3g reception, but once you switch back to edge by turning off the 3g, does the reception get better? Oh, and greater stability would be wonderful.

What is this fascination with stereo bluetooth anyway?
It won't even sound as good as the ear crushing ibuds.

Blech.

Why not? There's nothing inherent in A2DP that makes it sound bad - it supports many codecs (including AAC) plus uncompressed audio up to 48khz. The limit in quality is going to be at the ipod end not on the headset.

I agree that it should be an option native to the iPhone, but I'd never use it as BT will drain the phone's battery too quickly for my liking.

I have been an iPhone user since the week after the launch of 1.0 and for the life of me can not figure out what the obsession is with the iPhone and copy/paste. Is there something I'm missing?

When you get a tracking number via email that is not part of a URL, it's a pain swapping over to Safari. That's the example that hit me this morning trying to track a memory order from Crucial.

I cannot WAIT for the turn by turn GPS feature. Having to open picture messages through safari is kind of annoying but something I can deal with. I also cannot wait for the lag in contacts and sms to be fixed as well as the random crashing of random applications..that tends to be really annoying.

other than that..better battery life would be nice but meh not that important. hopefully it will be coming out soon! :D

Man this sucks! How come this isn't seeded to new acceptances?? I JUST got into the program about two days ago and did the Activation Code and whole deal. And all I see in the Dev Center is the SDk download (final).

This is so silly! If I knew this before, I wouldn't have accept the invitation for the Standard Program and paid $99.

It's not like this is the only update they'll ever have available...

why is turn by turn so important and why is it so hard to implement?
isnt it something to do with google not wanting it done?

I good GPS navigator is one you never have to look at. The best ones speak to you. Such as, Turn Right onto Geary Road in 0.4 miles. Some or so so when they can't speak street names. Google maps is designed for your normal browsing like online. It doesn't have built in software for speech abilities, nor a 3D view that makes it easy when you glance at it to see the turn ahead.

Also, say you miss an exit, or a turn, a real GPS app will notice and recalculate the route from your current location automatically. Or say if you are in the middle of a long trip and notice you are low on gas, or hungry, you can go into the menu, select gas, and it will show all nearest gas stations or fast food, and add it into your trip a a waypoint. Better if you can do this by voice control.

It's all about convenience and being practically when on the road.

Oh, and it would be nice to have built in maps, so you don't have to worry about internet, especially how edge is mostly what you'll find on the road.

I am confused too. I thought that was the point of having iPhone Developer portal access.

My only hope with 2.1 is just that they can fix some instability when playing some apps but then again, I am not sure whether that is the iPhone's fault or the Apps but here and there my iPhone restarts while playing a game

Screw copy and paste... Just give me stability!
Hear, Hear! Apparently in 2.0, using many (all?) apps will eventually cause your phone to fail to start up after power off. So far, it would appear the only fix is to do a complete restore and new sync. Kind of hard if you are on the road or otherwise away from your sync'ing Mac.

I have removed ALL of my downloaded apps from the app store, including those I've paid for (what, no refund?) until this issue is resolved.

Shame on Apple. There is a long thread detailing this issue on Apple Discussions
